Taliferro is guilty of something and is probably out of coaching forever. I think this is a valid explanation and goes a ways as to clearing Capel and difusing the situation somewhat as long as there are no other paper trails.

You can delegate authority ... but you can't delegate responsibility. Coach "O" may have been given the authority to do certain things but the ultimate responsibility lies elsewhere. If you want this crap to stop then you have to affect a change of some kind upon whoever is responsible. IMO that is Joe C and/or coach. Coach O was just a "delegatee".

With coolm making the same argument as Glory, I may have to reconsider my position. :ez-laugh:

I have no idea how this will turn out in the long run. Neither does anyone else. All we have a this point is a collection of very few facts and a lot of innuendo.

I do know that those in charge at OU want their coaches to do things the 'right way'.

I also know that if they thought Capel was complicit in anything like the innuendo hints at, he would already be gone.

If what Gallon is saying is true, it would seem to refute the arguments of some of those in our "cloak and dagger" crowd. I'm not saying that what happened was right or above board, just that it's a far different scenario than what's been presented here in recent days.

I don't get this post. The payment was illegal regardless of what it was for or what Tiny says it was for. Illegal is illegal as in breaking the rules...so nothing is refuted by Tiny's excuse.

Isnt' the fact he knew nothing about this, if he did in fact know nothing about this a problem in and of itself? Doesn't that seem to point to "lack of institutional control" if an assistant coach is able to negotiate a sweet deal to get a recruit's signature without the coach knowing anything about it? If Capel didn't know about OT's doings, then Capel should be in serious hot water.

Would you like to see my diploma? Are you an OU alum? You certainly don't sound like one.

"Fans" don't care if their team is caught cheating as long as they win, or in this case, even if they have a losing record.

Alumni get angry when their school starts piling up a lengthy list of infractions. Alums that actually care about their alma mater also will not make excuses about the infractions, they will want to know why it happened and what will be done so that it won't happen again.
