He was the best player on the court most games and he knows it. He'll be just like Mark Sanchez, people will criticize his decision then he will blow people away at his workouts.

You're right. He's as ready as he'll ever be to have a successful career in Europe.

In a way you're right in that TMG isn't growing 4 inches, so he won't be improving in his biggest deficiency. That said Sanchez had all the tools to be successful, TMG does not. Granted if a PG is going to come out this is the year. Hell, Bledsoe is being considered for the lottery according to ESPN. That said I can't imagine a single team taking TMG in the first round. Hell he might go undrafted.

Wow, are you really that out of it? Mark Sanchez had all the pro measurables..height, weight, arm strength, and mobility. All he lacked was more experience. TMG is only 5'9, needs to drop a few pounds, doesn't have any real explosive jumping power, doesn't know how to run an offense, and really lacks experience. But, other than that, he's just like Sanchez. Shouldn't you be out with JessieW celebrating another great season of Pac-10 and UA bball?

He'll have a great few years playing backup guard for the Haifa Harmoshke (harmonicas) of the Yiddish League.

Experience is everything with a guy that short. He simply doesn't have it. He wont get drafted.

tmg can join the warriors and shoot lights out without having too play defense

TMG is the best freshman point guard at OU since I remember ..... in spite of the criticism. Name a better Sooner PG as a freshman. It sure wasn't Hollis Price or Drew Lavender. Mookie, Quannas, Ontjes all came in as juco's.

The guy was the 2-time POY in Houston .... no easy task. He has talent in spite of his size. He can handle the ball and pass. He can shoot. He needs work on defense, but most freshmen do, too. He would be a lot better player next year than he was this year.

He might have to play in Europe but guys like Hollis Price and Ebe Eri make good money playing overseas.

I wish he was staying ..... don't know what he was really like in the locker room. Count me in the minority.

This may be true, because at his size the deck is stacked against him playing at the next level...

There is no doubt the kid has skills, but even at his best this year i dont see an NBA team taking a scoring first type of PG that is only going to be a backup at best...

In a perfect world i could have maybe seen him stay 3 yrs and lead this team to a high ranking and show he can run the show and be a leader then jump to the NBA, but at this point all he has proved is he can score on a team that cant win games...players that can score but cant play defense or lead a team at PG are a dime a dozen, check out overseas and the NBDL...

Tell that to Texas and Iowa St abd.

He was brilliant...obviously his head just isnt there or he is getting some horrible info...that dream dangling out there is just too much to resist for some though, my friend did the same thing...went undrafted and ended up playing D2 because he entered the draft...if he had stayed he was projected as a lottery player 2 yrs later...

but these kids have to make their own decisions, some are just smart enough to learn from others mistakes, not have to learn from their own...

Flipside tho, what if he is looking at what happened to WW and thinking he didnt want to make that same mistake?

Once teams realized that he could hurt them they did a better job of shutting him down and making him take tough shots. He needed a couple more years of college experience to be ready for the NBA. I will be more suprised to see him drafted than Willie or Gallon.

They are going to feel a little small if they are not drafted.

From a chat with Chad Ford of ESPN today:

mad house (h-town): Does Tommy Mason-Griffin have NBA potiential?
Chad Ford (1:49 PM): I don't see it.

I can just imagine what Russell Westbrook, CP3, Steve Nash and Deron Williams would do to Tommy. It is a disturbing thought.

Could he develop into a guy like Eddie House? House is 6' 1" so he has a couple inches on him.

the thing is...if he can go overseas and earn a low 6 figures then that probably sounds good to him right now. So as much as we (and I btw) think it is a bad choice...he gets to play a game and make a living at it. As we have seen from many of the kids overseas for many it ends up being a rather decent life.
