Defend like we did during the first half of the Santa Clara/most of the second half of the Wazzu games tonight and we win the trophy.

Play like we did in the second half against Santa Clara - not running out on shooters, not communicating on defense or denying the passing lanes and I bet we take second place.

Defense determines this game for us. Period.

Agreed. But no matter how the game turns out, I will continue to be pleased with the team's performance in this tournament. I didn't expect OU to beat WSU, much less be playing in the championship game. LK has done a remarkable job of getting these kids to play together as a TEAM. Man, it feels good to say that again!

This team has a way to go to be a finished product. But I am very happy with our progress so far, and more optimistic than I ever thought I would be before the season started.

The denial of the passing lanes, switching off of screens and communication on defense have been an amazing progression. Rebounding has looked better than expected thus far as well. The key will be to just keep progressing.

Nothing to add, just wanted to agree with you guys, and pad my post count.:D:D:D

To me it's pretty simple that the Basketball God's owe us this one after the crap we've dealt with the past two seasons.

I think if Pledger goes 30/30 from downtown we'll win this game pretty easily. Defense is overrated.

I like that we had a day off. I'll put LK up against just about anybody as far as game planning. Just gotta hope we execute.

This team has exceeded my expectations already. But having said that I am finding it hard to not raise my expectations to an unrealistic level.

The team seems to have picked up Kruger's system much faster than I expected but we are probably in for a number of disapointments before the year is over.

We had a hard time staying in front of WSU's quick guards in the first half. We did shut them down in the second half.

We are still undersized inside and Fitz seems to be a little lost on offense. He has played pretty well in the tournament. Glad to see him rebounding.

Hopefully we continue to play well but every team has their down days. We need to slow down their treys. Santa Clara was hitting them from the dressing room door but we do have to cover better. They also lit up New Mexico from downtown.

Agreed...

The formula for this team will be quite simple all season....PLAY HARD!

I love this hybrid Tubbs/Sampson thing we have going on here...my expectations this season were super low and i am trying not to raise them based on a couple of wins against unproven teams, but it's hard not too with the way they are competing....i love it...

The main thing with this team i already see is the fact we will do just that, COMPETE!

BRING HOME THE 76 CHAMPIONSHIP!!
