Darrell Williams is a stud, and probably better than anyone not named Ratliffe.

Matt Pressey (All American last year) belongs on the list.

i was going to say the same about asprilla. it's actually pretty hard to pick out five that are clearly better than some of the next candidates.

Asprilla is going to be a good impact player, but he isnt really a juco transfer. He didn't play juco basketball, and just attended classes because he could transfer directly.

Have you heard anything about Myles? I know he had pretty solid numbers and played with a bunch of high-major D-1 talent. Is he likely to start at point guard this year?

asprilla actually did play 4-5 games in juco, unfortunately.

i haven't heard anything on myles, perhaps because he hasn't impressed, or perhaps just because he didn't get to campus till late summer, unlike most of the rest of the recruits.

So we have an OSU fan touting an OSU player, a Mizzou fan touting a Mizzou Player, and a KSU fan touting a KSU player. So I'm going to join in and say that their is no way Nick Thompson shouldn't be on that list.

just to break the team allegiance cliche: almeida should make the list instead of the guard for nu.

Are we sure he made it? They recently competed in the Bahamas and Almeida didn't show up in the box scores.

As for Walker, he should be a pretty good player. I would expect his impact to be more than Almeida.

Opportunity is going to play a factor in who will be the top player. Darrell Williams is going to be in a battle with Moses and Pilgrim. Also, if Perry Shaw has improved like OSU fans say he has, then he's in that mix. Olukemi is going to start so he'll have a chance to have some numbers. Ratcliffe is going to get his, but CJ Washington will probably have the most opportunity.

Except Nick Thompson's 8 points and 4 rebounds per game didn't earn him First Team Junior College All American status.

How far did the top 5 take their teams last year in the JUCO National Tournament? Nick Thompson's team took third in the nation. Most folks on this board on stuck on individual numbers. I'm all about what a player does to help his team win. Nick was asked to play out of position, he knew his numbers would suffer, but he also knew that was what he needed to do for his team to win. I would take a player like that over an individual stat guy any day. BOOMER SOONER!!!!

I remember back in the day when bigtime juco talent came into the Big 8.
That list makes you go.....who?

Nick Thompson's team took third, but was Thompson the one carrying them there?

His team actually beat Pressey's in that third place game (by four in overtime), but Thompson had just 3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists while playing less than half the game. Pressey had 20 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists and sat for just 8 minutes all game long.

That doesn't mean Thompson won't fill a valuable role for Oklahoma, but there's really no rational reason to put him ahead of someone like Pressey. I'm not high on Pressey because he happened to choose my school. I'm high on him because his entire resume indicates he's just a better player (and I haven't praised the juco transfers of other schools because I just don't know about them; it's not easy to find a ton of info on juco guys like with other recruits).

It will be interesting to see how, if at all, junior college basketball changes as the NCAA cracks down on prep schools and if the NBA adjusts its age limit again with the upcoming CBA.
