tennessee this weekend, washington next weekend, mississippi the following weekend and new jersey the weekend after that.. lawd :)

Well obviously she hasn't made a decision or commitment, huh?

Well, I always want the best possible ballplayers OU can get.

That being said, we've got plenty of quality guards on the roster and coming in over the next couple of years.

If this was a center or power forward, I would be weeping.

I like the way you think. Maybe we get her, maybe we don't, but we are in pretty good shape with our back court.

I don't think there is much doubt Toree would start at OU from day. She, Ortiz, Little, Sharane, and Maddie would be a killer group in the backcourt.

I just checked and it appears that none of our assistants are following Thompson. Either we are no longer recruiting her or Sherri is the one doing so. With her listing her official visits and OU not being one and our coaches not following her, I would say it doesn't look good for her becoming a Sooner.

Last I saw, we have Derica Wyatt, Gioya Carter, and T'Ona Edwards as well. I think we'll survive.

Sure, we can survive, that's not the issue. Toree is an elite player. I've noticed those type players make a big difference.

If there is a bird left in the bush, it must be better than the ones in hand.

I haven't seen her listed as a top prospect by any of the rating services (and I do realize the rating services are far from perfect and could have just missed her)...just curious why do you think she is elite?

Just about everything you read about Toree talks about her ability to score. She has a high motor and plays with intensity. I talked to a a high school coach, that I know here in OKC, who has watched her play a few times who said she can score from anywhere. She reminded him of a taller Aaryn with better handles and better defensively.

Edit to say: When you also see Tennessee recruiting her, that speaks pretty loudly about her ability to play. I agree with you that the recruiting services are good but certainly not infallible. But, ProspectNation even has her as a 4 star player so they like her as well.

What evidence do you have that she is being recruited by Tennessee....she may be going to the state on a recruiting trip but the Vols aren't the only school in the state. She follows the Memphis staff on twitter and does not follow the Tennessee staff...my guess (and I could be wrong) is she is going to Memphis for an official.

By the way the New Jersey coaching staff she follows is Seton Hall...she does not follow the Rutgers staff. She does follow the Ole Miss staff and the Univ of Washington staff.

You could be right. She didn't specifically mention the University of Tenn.

Toree seems to really have a good relationship with her family. I won't be surprised if she stays fairly close to home.

The more I think about Thompson, the more I think Oliver is right. Sherri would probably rather use that ship for a big than another guard right now. As bad as we need bigs, I can understand that. If she signs Ortiz and Dunbar in this class, one could certainly make the point there isn't room for another guard/wing now.

Norm,
Got to sign at a minimum 2 bigs. Ideally a juco, and 2 HS kids.
unless Sherri has found the second coming of Amanda in Kellogg or Gibbs.
