Trae Young and father to meet with Lon Tuesday

Who is emberey? Someone above said we are watching him. Where does he play now and what do we know about him? thanks.

He can play. 4 star kid.

Plays for PWP (under Armour) circuit in the summer time.

Is he a fall back in case Young goes elsewhere? In which case we'd only have Strong and Shepherd next year. Or is Lon trying to sign him for '18 regardless? I wonder if Lon is trying for any other '17 guys..

Keyshawn Embery is a 6' 2" or 6' 3" (depending on the site you go to) combo guard at Midwest City who some believe can play the one or the two at the next level. He's a top 100 recruit in the 2018 class, so he will not be in a position to help OU next season if we don't sign Young or another point guard. There's more available online, but here is a link to 247 sports with a partial list of his current offers. He doesn't have an OU offer yet.

I like what I have seen on this highlight video!

I had a chance to see him last season at the ToC in Tulsa and thought he was the best player there as a Sophomore and that included the Manek brothers from Harrah and Ethan Chargois from Union.

He's a 2018. Just a junior this year. I think offer is coming real soon. He'll be a target reguardless of young or not.

I assume we are still looking at 2017 but Ive heard no names. We may save the ship for a grad transfer or for 2018.

My guess is that Lon or his staff have talked to him and will offer if Trae decides on KU or somewhere else. There's a pretty good chance he's told the Sooners he'll go somewhere else if Trae comes to OU though I'm just speculating here.

Embery currently has offers from Tulsa, Nebraska, Creighton and a few other schools. With Arkansas starting to heat up their pursuit. He has long been on OU's radar, and I think they're following suit with the aforementioned schools.

In this interview from last week, along with highlights of his season so far, I'd say his recruiting process is still fairly wide open. Although, he will likely commit at some point after taking official visits in the fall.

Take it for what it's worth. Just one person's thoughts.

A young man who has played with Trae before said that Trae is not going to OU and they are just waiting so that he won't get a bunch of backlash in Norman.

Very well could be wrong, just thought I would pass it along.

That wouldn't prevent backlash from some people. If a recruit really wanted to prevent backlash, he would say from the getgo that he wanted to go out of state or out of town. Then if he didn't choose OU, it wouldn't be a surprise.

I said before KU (90%) or OSU(5%) or UK (5%), KU likely.

He isn't coming here and Lon is fooled.

But I'm sure someone who thinks they know will come on and inform us all of the 'truth'.

Just like the Woodard "injury"/"psych" issue.

The thought that he is a Norman kid and been to OU games so much has no bearing...

Sucks but true!

Seems very plausible.

Could very well be true. I've never thought he would end up here however, why would he bother to schedule a meeting with Lon if he had zero interest. Seems like a reach

Every poster who is so confidently saying there's no chance Trae chooses OU knows exactly what all our other posters know: ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Whatever decision this kid ultimately makes, it will be a huge relief to me and I'm sure many others.

To silence the backlash.

Dragging this out and "pretending" to have a legitimate interest in OU will only intensify the backlash. If indeed that is what they're doing, someone is giving them bad advice.

I truly hope that is not what is going on here. It's bad enough to make Coach Kruger wait and maybe miss out on an adequate replacement he could have signed in the early period. Making him wait when the interest wasn't genuine would be the biggest cut of all.

I can honestly say I'm ready for the entire sage to end. If he chooses OU, that is great. If he doesn't, oh well. My only negative thought would be if it came out that OU had zero chance all along and Young was stringing along OU, which kept Kruger from finding an adequate replacement. This team is in desperate need of a PG and why I think the loss of Pritchard is the one that OU will regret the longest as it disrupted this season and likely 3 others.
