Trae Young

I'm confused. You said Lon doesn't want Trae and OU is not recruiting him anymore, something you have said before. You're saying OU's coaches have turned their sights to Keyshawn Embery, and that they would love to offer him. You go on to imply that an Embery offer hasn't been extended because Trae doesn't want to play with an instate player ((I assume you mean one who can play the point).

Here's the part I don't understand. If Lon doesn't want Trae and OU is not recruiting him now, why would anyone be concerned about offering Keyshawn Embery? What am I missing?

Not only that but isn't Embery an '18 kid?

Keyshawn Embery doesn't even have OU on his list..I'm wrong? I also thought he was a heavy for arkansas. at least according to the hog radio shows..if that counts

Yes, he is. Judging by what I have seen of Embery on his highlight videos, he would be a good get. I fail to see how that would fill our need for a point guard next season if we don't get Young?

I'll add this about Seymore Cox. He has been a regular here since the board's inception. I know for a fact that he had some solid inside sources once, and likely still does.

If so, I think there is every reason to believe he knows something we don't about Young and OU's interest in Embery. I don't doubt what he's saying. I'm just confused by what appears to be a contradiction that hasn't been explained yet.

I guess the only contradiction is the just in case scenario where Young may pick OU.

That's the only thing that makes any sense to me.

I get that. As long as there's a chance, OU has too much invested in recruiting Young to move on before he makes a decision.

OU has to play the recruitment game with Ray. This is why their has been no there targets publicly at the PG position.

Kinda what I thought, just not what I wanted to hear.

I was afraid this might happen. That's why I was hoping our coaches would take the best PG available in the early signing period and take their chances with Young. The only option they have now is to stay the course and hope all of their time and effort to sign Trae pays dividends.

Any 2017 PGs still out there if we don't get Young?

I'm guessing LK appreciates all the help posters on this board offer. I bet someone connected to this family reads this message board. Maybe the insults toward his family should stop. And I'm suggesting this thread gets deleted.

Yeah, send it to Trae's dad so he can tweet "This is why Trae is not going to Oklahoma".

Seriously, as a former Mod, I know for a fact family and friends read these message boards. Heck, Jeff Capel's mom used to be a regular browser. That said, I've read a lot worse than this about a player's family. These are fairly natural reactions to comments from a father who clearly doesn't want his son to go to OU.

That poor woman..

I've never seen such vitriol like what I witnessed toward capel.

If find it pretty ironic a dad is pissed off because a reporter wrote a negative remark about his son so he goes to a twitter to write a negative quote about a school .

Obviously mr young is making the ok media a scapegoat for trae's impending decision to ku, but if the ok media even factors into their decision even the most minute amount it is way too damn much. I despise the ok media. I've been to other media markets and they tend to positively spin things pertaining to their state programs more often than not. The ok media tends to spin almost everything ou related negatively. Don't bite the hand that feeds you.

I personally don't care if a recruit's parents see what I have to say. I will and have said the same thing to their faces. If a kid is more "me" than "team" then I want nothing to do with them. It's that simple.

But maybe Kruger, who knows the kid better than you and also knows the team's needs better than you, does want the kid. It's not about what you want. They play. You watch.

Here's the article Trae's dad linked that drew his ire. I'm gonna be honest, I'm not sure I've ever seen a column critique a high school program before. Then again, I've never read the Transcript's high school stuff.

http://www.normantranscript.com/spo...cle_9c2459f7-f90e-5137-9195-6352484ead80.html

I made it to the bolded parts and had to stop. That might be the worst sports article I have ever read. That was very very difficult to read and very very poorly written. My word.

Having said all that...if that is the reason Trae won't be coming here, good riddance. That kind of interaction/helicoptering is a recipe for future issues. Reminds me of the bomar family
