That’s a bit of an overreaction. I know it hurts to lose out on a recruit, but let’s see how the portal season plays out before we make absolute judgments.
 
You cant say that just because other teams have 4 or 5 pickups that they have a better roster then last year or that our roster isn’t as good as last year simply because we haven’t. You look at Ole Miss, Tenn, Ky, even LSU and you are looking at teams that graduated or lost significant amounts of their rosters. We lost one key starter and three good backups. We have added three quality freshman. We have one true need at the SF position. I don’t want a team that buys a new roster every year. Bad for chemistry. I want this play for each other, family oriented team. That’s how you retain talent and I would rather have that than a couple of superstars that are there for a paycheck and don’t really like each other.

2 of the top 25 transfer portal prospects are uncommitted, and I haven't really heard OU mentioned for either of them.

I think if we are putting them at 1 position then Zya is the starting SG and Payton at SF. The 2/3/4 can all be pretty interchangeable on offense our system...it is defense where you need a bigger 4 if you are playing someone that plays bigger.

As of today, yes Zya could be put in as a 3rd guard, but at SG? She hasn’t developed her shot enough for that. Her optimal position would be backup PG, leading the 2nd group

They would reallyyy be pressing it only carrying 9 players so we’ll have to see who we add but we DO need to add somehow

Ideally, if we can land Emely Rodriguez she could slide into that SF/PF position at 6’, skillful and strong enough to play interchangeably with Sahara

If we can land Ndjakalenga then she’d be the starting PF and let Sahara man the Wing position

If we can land BOTH, which is what I definitely want then I’d say our starters would be

Chavez, Verhulst, Williams, Ndjakalenga, Beers
 
goodness, i hope we add a couple players to our roster before everything's said and done. 9 players, with 3 freshmen and 1 sophomore never having played significant minutes is a scary thought. Goodness forbid any injuries occur. Also, how can we play 'fast' if we don't have the bodies to do so? Really hoping JB has something up her sleave and we hear something soon.

we don't know that not landing anyone has ANYTHING to do with NIL. Could be a lot of these players don't want to live in bible belt Oklahoma, don't like the city, don't like the weather, etc. you just never really know. Now, if we don't land a single portal player then it could be we didn't offer enough, but for right now, only May 1st, I'm going to hold off on assuming. Trying to be patient!

In Jennie recent press conference she was VERY high on Brooklyn. Made it seem like she was going to get significant minutes. With her being 6’2/6’3 with her midrange game along with her shooting 3’s is going to be tough to defend. She also Spoke highly on Keziah as well but also said she isn’t 100% healthy just yet, she said she is hoping Keziah is 100% when she gets on campus.

Yes I believe we are. She would be great in OU’s system. She’s is just like Skylar but probably better skill wise. Also I think we are looking at Ndjakalenga Mwenentanda a 6’3/6’4 who can play the 3 or the 4.
 
What happened with Talia Vann? She should have been in this recruiting class? She has some size!
 
Talia Vann is intriguing actually

I’ve never seen her play in person but based on the little highlights I found she looked pretty sound plus at 6’3”/6’4” that’s good measurables

Maybe a year or so at SFA will allow her to play and develop more at the D1 level

Might be one to follow for the future, because we’ll need to hit the portal even harder next year like for real
