They can be contract workers. For example. WWE wrestlers are all contract workers and not considered employees.

It’s little more complicated than that. You can’t just call them 1099 contractors. There are conditions that have to be met to be considered “not” an employee. I don’t think college players would qualify as non employees under contract.

Edit: pro athletes are considered employees. College players would be as well under the law.

Agree, my response was to if they sign contracts they are employees, I gave an example of not always the case.

As of right now, that looks like marginally better than last year's team, with a chance for Nwankwo to surprise and start at the 2 or us to bring in another game-changer at 2 guard and move xzayvier to 6th man role. Need to fill one more wing guard (should have enough ball-handlers with Pack, Brown, and Forsythe). We do have one more frontcourt opening, but we'll have 3 guys on the bench over 6'9" that might fill in that space, and we could go all in on the last guard position.

Not necessarily a position we need right now… but would definitely throw the McGriff money + a little more obviously at him instead. Have Jeff N play the 4 a little bit more. Overton is a really solid defender which we could use off the bench.

Davis, Pack, Brown, Claude, McGriff and Brennan would a really good portal class. McGriff I would be ok waiting on though and seeing what other options the portal presents.
