Transfer Portal 2025

Might be the Browns visit/charter plane. If this is repeat knowledge, sorry. I don't have Rivals and I haven't read scoop.

Nice work @StoopsBros!!! Has to be them imo… feel like it is very rare you see a private plane fly from Philadelphia to Norman, OK haha.

Davis, Pack, Brown, Claude, McGriff and Brennan would a really good portal class. McGriff I would be ok waiting on though and seeing what other options the portal presents.

I assume Campbell is no longer an option if Brown and Claude commit.
I’d worry about chemistry if we add Claude. That’s a lot of ball dominant guys (Pack, Brown, Claude) on one team.

Not saying we shouldn’t do it, because on paper that’s probably a fringe Top 25 team.

surely a misprint!
Not a misprint. I'm going primarily on the numbers with this to avoid any hyperbole so I don't have to defend my intelligence against the negative bunch on here. Xzayvier is clearly a better player on the floor.

PER
  • Duke - 19.3
  • Xzayvier - 18.9
Stoops Bros Spreadsheet (2 of the 3 highest guard scores on his sheet)
  • Duke - 59
  • Xzayvier - 60.8
Numbers before joining OU were comparable as scorers.

Might make more sense to compare them like this:

Fears > Xzayvier Brown
Miles < Pack
Goodine << Claude?
Moore = Davis

Wague < Wague

Forsythe < Forsythe
Elvis < Jones
Taylor < Nwankwo
Northweather < ?? (one of the freshmen / soph?)
Godwin < McGriff or Brennan

Improvement across the roster. Biggest consideration is shooting from the 5 to spread the floor. Can Atak, Rodgers, or Holst bring that?

I wouldn't worry about it:

Fears (31.5), Moore (25.5), and Duke Miles (17.5) all worked together fine. The three you listed are all around 22-24, so plenty of possessions to go around. And those three all averaged 4+ assists last year. Love the idea of having a good passing team for once. Seems like it's been forever for us.

All these players who should, by all rights, be perfectly happy where there are (there are exceptions, of course) being convinced by "agents," family and/or friends (or their own misguided conviction that surely the grass is greener out there, right?) chasing bags year after year, establishing no roots, no loyalties, no enduring communities and probably receiving half-assed educations while they're at it.

Yes, I know that some student-athletes never did care about the education but many did, and how strong an education can one receive if you're at a different school every year?
they are in the work force .... period ... and for lots of them this 3-4 year window is the max they will ever earn per year in their LIFE ..

it makes TOTAL sense ..

Too many mouths to feed. Take one less guard and spend that money on a Center.

Jones, Nwankwo, Pack, Brown, Claude.....that wouldn't be good roster makeup. I prefer Brown over Claude.

You take them all and figure it out.

One thing this offseason is showing me is no matter how you feel about Moser, if he gets NIL behind him, he can do some damage in the portal. And he's not afraid to be a little dirty behind the scenes (which I LOVE).

Whether it works out is another thing, but this is a positive development in my eyes.

Get this guy and drop that Claude dude for sure imo. Much better return and hedge on our 5 position. Gives wague and Kai rogers more rope too
I dunno, I might rather take a chance on Bol than Onyenso at this point. He’s a decent shot blocker and is thicker, but Bol may have more upside. We know what Ony is at this point.
