Transfer Portal 2025

I dunno, I might rather take a chance on Bol than Onyenso at this point. He’s a decent shot blocker and is thicker, but Bol may have more upside. We know what Ony is at this point.
I could be easily swayed to either. But simply I prefer another 5 over Claude, a guard that shoots under 33.3% from 3.

I see almost no chance we end up with the good problem of having to worry about getting "too many" good guards. Who knows if we close on any, let alone all. Sign all the good players you can. There are elite teams with all sorts of talented players. The coach gets paid to make it work.

I say don't save money this year. Sign all the talent you can, particularly if they have more than one year of eligibility. If the House settlement goes through this summer, then this might be the last year of the mega pay to play contracts. If so, then there is a chance our talent will be stuck with us on their current deals and it won't make sense for them to test free agency after next season. This is exactly what the colleges hoped for when they agreed to the settlement. Don't know if it will work out that way. But, future deals will be limited to "fair market value" on NIL deals. With a presumption that almost no one has a value exceeding $600,000.00.

This is why I think Nico (at Tennessee) did what he did. Many believe you have to get the mega deals now, before they are a thing of the past. While I say go all in, if you can, now. I'm with whoever said that, if we get Brown, they want our money spent on a center instead of another guard. I think if you get brown, you can find a competent back up guard with 2000 kids in the portal.

Can't say that I have watched to much of the committed kids play. On davis, I have only watched his highlight film. There is no way he can be as good as his highlight film. But, his numbers say is a good player and probably a decent or comparable player to Moore. Haven't watched much on Pack. But, have watched a little on Brown. Sign me up. He looks like a pretty good player to me. Hope we get him.

Also, some updates on guys we contacted:

Tre White, Kansas, missed that
Jaron Peirre Jr, looks like either Ole Miss or Arkansas
Ante Brzovic (needs eligibility) but looks like a higher IU or UNC type get
Rodney Rice, looks like Villanova
KJ Lewis, Georgetown, missed that
Jamichael Stillwell - looks to be a UCF lean
Ezra Ausar, Nebraska seems likely with a USC visit on the horizon
Mackenzie Mgbako, NC State lean
Bryce Lindsay to Maryland fell apart...
Kennard Davis, lean to Ohio St, visited this weekend

Man, KState losing all their bench bigs...oh and Hausen...

Baye Fall, Achor Achor, and Ugonna Onyenso
Yep. Remember when some on here wished we had hired Tang?? He’s struggled mightily the last two years and that’s with having a huge NIL budget to work with. Now he can’t seem to retain players either.

Hausen to Iowa

The person who thinks schools cricket around top recruits laughed at my typo. Lol
