Transfer Portal 2025

I gave both you and Skyvue a "Like" because you both do what is best for yourselves or your families even if your values / beliefs may not match. I've tried things your way and Skyvue's, so I can relate to both of you. I don't think there are any wrong answers here as long as whoever is playing for OU acts / conducts himself with integrity and plays his best while he is wearing that uniform.
I agree with all of this....

Quick football tangent:
How much do you believe the NIL landscape will change now that Tennessee has moved on from their very average QB's salary demands? That kid is the only reason we didn't get annihilated by the Vols last season. Tipping point across the college landscape? Or isolated incident? Argle-bargle or foofaraw?
Carry on.

I’ve done both, nearly 20yr with a world famous software firm .. and an avg of 2yr per stop last decade with others. That loyalty cost me millions. It’s the same for players. Loyalty to an amoral business entity as “a resource” with no guarantees (contract) is breathtakingly stupid.

So this thing of free agency craziness is not going to stop without real contracts and guarantees for both parties. In addition, capitalists also don’t value something they’ve already bought (you), so don’t expect to be able to keep good people other people are willing to promote without them. By the time you do homework someone else already bought them.

I will not be surprised to see some colleges start to import players from overseas on student visas. Because if they enter the portal for more money you can revoke it and get them deported .. like some software firms.

AD’s will be just another business entity once they wake up and stop pretending they are not. Not NFL/NBA lite, but actually a competitor with a different ownership model.

My guess on Counter is $$.

With a kid, Counter is taking the best offer possible.

UK took another big. Probably doesn't impact BG but no idea

Nico is just an idiot. Maybe he makes more but with USC, ND, Tech and other big money teams saying no. He can't transfer to an SEC team and play ball this year so he's really limited on getting even as much as he got at Tenn.

Hell man this year is world's better then the prior 3 years of Moser's tenure. Kept a lot of pieces on the roster and are bringing in 2 high impact players ? If we can do this every year that'll make a consistent Tournament team.

a lot of pieces?
every starter is gone.
2 contributors return.
not a situation to brag about.

Nobody is bragging but it's a ton better then what's happened the prior 3 years where it's a total rebuild and we're bringing in guys from low mids to fill starting spots on the team. There are least some pieces to build on this year with Forsythe, Wague, Jones and Nwanko plus the 2 All Conference level transfers.
