Transfer Portal 2025

Don’t know y’all’s thoughts… but would definitely be a take imo even after his bad season. Need all the shooting we can get and has pretty good positional size
The stats at UNC worry me too much. We want to be better team in a better conference. The stats tell me he can’t play at this level. Maybe there’s another side to the story, but until I hear that, I wouldn’t endorse.

Sorry IAP, but has Brown strictly been a PG?

I haven't seen him at all, but his numbers are great. 3-pt percentage dipped a bit this season but still solid, and was very good his freshman season. Very good rebounding numbers for his size, although that would be hard to replicate in the SEC. If we get him, we definitely need to make sure that our 3-man is a very good defender and preferably tall and/or long -- he and Pack together likely will be exploited defensively unless the other three guys on the floor are good defenders.

I think they plan on starting Jadon Jones at the 3. Maybe not as tall, but a very active defender.

Brown
Pack
Jones
Davis
Wague (maybe portal?)

Is the best starting 5 Porter has had so far imo.

Lusk saying it will not be financially feasible to bring in Claude now that we have decided to bring in Brown
I mean, that's fine if they have a plan for the other open spots. But if not, I don't know how we wouldn't MAKE it financially feasible. If you have the opportunities to put the pieces in place, you raise the money.

I agree. BUT, do we have the role for him at this point?

Per Lusk…
I expect Saint Joseph’s transfer Xzayvier Brown, who just entered the portal, to be Oklahoma’s next point guard. He averaged 17.6 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists as a sophomore for the Hawks. I’m told the staff views Brown as the best point guard currently available in the portal.

I also expect his stepdad, Justin Scott — Saint Joseph’s associate head coach — to join Oklahoma’s staff in the role vacated by Armon Gates.
