Tulsa knocks off the pokes in stillwater

At least giastout had the whole upper deck to himself...

Bad week to be a poke fan.

Looking more and more like Ford is gone after this year.

Sure hope you're wrong. I like having Travis around.

OSU is not a good team right now, and to be honest I don't see much of a chance they will be, even when Forte is healthy again. The one thing he will do is give them someone who can make shots from the perimeter. None of the shots they took in the final minutes in an attempt to cut into Tulsa's lead were even close to going in. Evans was their leading scorer with 11, but he scored most of his points in the first half.

The Pokes have almost no inside game, except for an occasional put back from Allen, or point blank shots from Solomon. I'll give the kid credit for working hard to get position inside and for doing his best to score and rebound. He's just not a player who is going to give you a double-double in most games, although tonight he was close with 9 points and 9 rebounds. He almost doubled his season average in both categories, if that tells you anything.

Ford may well be gone after this season, but sheesh, his buyout is still going to be around $8 million...

Travis Ford is probably the greatest coach ever at OSU. He needs to stay there forever.

In all seriousness. He's basically Snyder from Missouri about a decade ago. They kept his butt around 2 or 3 years too long too.

Snyder went to the elite 8 he could and can coach circles around ford

They have an inside game. His name is Olivier and he is a solid post player. He didn't play very much last game but he is their best player.

If they fired Ford right now, a different coach could salvage their season. They have talent. But typical Ford fashion, they put a small forward at the 4 position and they shoot way to many 3 point shots. They have 2 point guards on the floor the majority of the game.

It cracks me up that he gets these highly recruited Small Forwards and he continues to play them out of position. Franklin, Nash, Muonelo, Burton, Hammonds, Dillard, and Williams all play the 4 in his offense.

The fact that his team went 2 of 19 from beyond the arc says it all about his coaching.

Never leave, Travis. You are a sweet, sweet little man.

Had a friend who was there last night send me a picture of all the empty seats at GIA 10 minutes before tip-off. There were entire sections without anyone sitting in them and almost an entire section of bleachers for the students empty as well. He told me there was a lot of Blue or else it would look a lot worse, not that it could because you could literally count all the people in attendance in the 1/3 of the gym that his picture showed.

Sadly, LNC will look similar tonight and we are a top 10 team.

Apples and oranges. We aren't playing a solid in-state team tonight. And we haven't been characterized by the local media as the superior hoops program with the more enthusiastic fanbase.

They are a football school now, FYI! :ez-laugh:
