Back to TUM TUM. He will be going to MSU this weekend. They have put on the full court press. They missed on tyler Ulis to UK.
Has this young man spent a winter day in Michigan. It starts around Holloween and it doesn't end until the end of March. I lived in the Detroit area for more than 10 years. Winter sucks in that state. I would much prefer 100 degree heat in the summer than those winters.
18-22 year old kids in college don't care what the weather is like. It's about the college and basketball experience.

Not saying that some kids won't consider the weather where they choose college, but schools like Michigan and Ohio State end up with a lot of kids on their sports teams from places like Florida and Texas. MSU recruits primarily in state for basketball. All that being said, the weather is still not a factor in most kids decisions on where they attend college.
And there is a big difference between lacrosse played outside and basketball played inside.
Oklahoma is every bit as bad, heat-wise, as Michigan is, cold-wise. And then there are the tornadoes.
I doubt a college kid worries too much about the weather, but don't kid yourself that Oklahoma doesn't have weather to scare a kid off, if he's impressionable along those lines.
I live in both places for at least 10 years and I completely disagree.
