We remain a 5 seed vs Iona in the South Bracket (Houston). I would take this bracket in a heartbeat as the 4 seed would be Utah and Duke is the 1 seed.

There are just a handful of posters on this board who are still not convinced of the strength of the Big 12. Well, to refute their ignorance, the Big 12 has 7 teams safely in....along with K-State being one of the "last four out". With a weak bubble this year, it isn't out of the question to think that the Big 12 could get 8 teams in the tournament....although unlikely.

The only reason I like this bracket is because if we were to win the first two (Utah would be tough) we actually might have more depth than Duke (they run 7 guys now). However, I would rather play Maryland as a 4 seed. The other two (VCU,WVU) have styles of play that does not suit us.

Extremely unlikely we'd meet a Big XII team before the regional final.

I get the feeling that Utah has peaked. They recently lost at a tanking UCLA and got drubbed by Zona. They do have some good wins but their record is the product of a weak conference. I will be interested to see what happens when they plan Zona again.

VCU just lost Briante Weber (who leads the nation in steal %) for the season. That will have an effect on them. They got drilled by the two best teams they've played (Virginia and Villanova) by far. Their best win is either @Cincy or at home vs Northern Iowa. I'm not impressed by them other than their press.

I haven't seen much of Maryland, but it looks like they are fighting for second in a down Big 10.

I know. I was just saying in relation to the other 3-4 seeds I wouldn't mind that matchup or against Maryland. VCU and WVU will press us real hard the whole game.

Eh, I don't like the Utah match-up. Delon Wright would run circles around Woodward, and they have some trees to alter shots in the lane...we know how Thomas struggles finishing in traffic.
