Updated Rankings for 2016

No I saw Alexander playing with United Elite-Black this weekend. That team has Erin Degrate 6-4 from Waco Lavega.

Thanks I thought so, Cox posted a picture of her AAU team not to long ago and Alexander wasn't in it.

Thraillkill is now following N Mulkey and J Holmes. He was following Holmes old twitter.

Texas should have 4 top 10 players in the 2016 class, can't see all 4 playing together in college tho, OU needs to get atlest one of them.

One would be good, two would be awesome!

Merit scholars are just kids who did well in high school and OU gives them money to go there. It doesn't have anything to with the quality of OU academics.

I don't think elite basketball players are choosing UCONN, Tenn, or S. Carolina because they want to attend a school with exceptional academics.

True but I don't think they are choosing OU over those schools because of our exceptional academics.

I agree. Some continue to say we are at a disadvantage when it comes to recruiting because of academics. They cite Duke, Stanford, Notre Dame, etc. My point is, schools without lofty academic standing are recruiting like crazy. I doubt we lose 2 recruits out of 100 we go after because of academics. Academics certainly don't seem to be holding Patty back and she is very limited in the scholarship help she can offer.

To criticize our academics is just an excuse to try to justify why we aren't recruiting better.

Once again, after you show all of the top ten national recruits signed by the men's basketball program at OU that did not come from Oklahoma, we'll talk. Until then, you have not a clue.

willie Warren, TMG and Tiny were up there as we'll, but Willie should have been top 10 without looking

If women's recruiting is supposed to be tied to the men's program at the same school, Dawn Staley must not have gotten that memo. Neither did Cori Close at UCLA.

I didn't say that you could dodge the question. You want answers? You had better begin looking at all the evidence.

Warren was from six to sixteen, depending on the service. TMG was around #24 or #37. Gallon was from 21 through 37. Did they last four years between the three of them? I don't think we held off Kentucky or Louisville for any of them.

Paris #1 (C) and either #3 or #6 (A)
Amanda #7
No male from out of state has ever been rated that high.

Abi, DRob, Whitney, and Peyton were more highly-rated than any of the male recruits other than the three dropouts. Kornet was in the top 25.

But, neither program has consistently been able to land the top ten recruits, although the women come a lot closer.

Why?

OU hasn't gotten a top 10 player since 2006, But I think Sherri will go all out for Cox, maybe recruiting her like nothing we have seen before.

If we get Alexander I think we have about a 40-50% chance of signing Cox. If we don't get Brooke I think our chances of signing Cox drops to about 5-10%.

Why is it that both the men and women have difficulty getting an out-of-state top ten? I don't think the men have ever had a legitimate top ten from out of state (Warren? Really?). If it were that easy, why can't the men do it?

We can get top ten in football, softball, and gymnastics. What is different?

Men's basketball isn't the same as womens, you have to keep in mind the men can be one and done but the women have to stay four years. Ortiz #14 by ESPN, (old scouts.com) I like there rakings over other services, is the highest Player OU has signed since Amanda Thompson 2006. I have high hopes for her even tho she wasn't any type of high school All American and I think she will be small, Ortiz could be the type of player we need to turn our program around, but Sherri has to follow that up with a Beatrice Mompremier, or a Batouly Camara, nothing less then a top 5 post player, strike while the iron is hot. Basically talent attracts talent if OU can consistently get a top 20 player, a top 10 player will take note and maybe feel like their the missing part to a championship.
