Watch out for Texas Southern....

This really is kind of goofy on abd's part. I'm with Edmond. You might as well say "Watch out for every team we play this year". BOOMER SOONER BABY!!!

I listed two teams that OU needs to watch out for, and then said those are the only two "underdog" type teams that they need to be weary of. Similar to UTEP and Houston last year. Remember those games?

I am giving somewhat detailed previews of our opponents, and you guys act like that is a bad thing. Its summer time, I would think some good, logical, thoughtful discussion would be a good thing.

pretty big difference between Utep and Houston vs. ORU and Texas Southern. You're talking about Mid Majors vs. very low majors. To put it in perspective, ORU and Texas Southern are part of conferences that have never won a tournament game.

Yea, but there is no Houston or UTEP on schedule this year. These are the only teams with older, decent talent that could challenge OU. The other teams are high majors or cream puffs.

Look, most of us are OU fans inside and out and it hurts when we think our team wont be good and usually if not always give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to being better than other teams...especially in the offseason when no one really knows how good the team will be...

But honestly, looking at this team and the makeup...it would not surprise me for us to lose a ton of games to mid/low majors and finish close to the bottom if not the bottom of the Big 12...

and just the same, i could see this team winning the majority of the non conference games and having a surprising season with us landing squarely on the bubble come tourney time...

There is just that much unknown about this team...

Big is right on about these two teams being what if games...and even though i was giving him a hard time initially, even some of those cream puff games could be what if's...Gardner Webb, Central Arkansas, Maryland Eastern-Shore, Sacramento State...would be a big dissapointment if we lose those games...but wouldnt surprise me one bit...

I think it would be different if he was calling these out as losses...just games to watch out for. Now, to me, the "irony" is that OU could just as easily be a "team to watch out for" given the criteria that abd generally uses.
