We have been playing 4 on 5 on offense for two weeks

Exactly. If Cade was a liability, then you would see teams not guarding him on the offensive end, inviting him to shoot. If they do that, which they won't, Cade's slump would probably end quick because he would knock down open looks.

Most of the teams that we play have a simple scheme: Push Fitz off the block, make it hard for our guards to feed him, and know where Cade and Pledger are on the perimeter. No one who is a liability gets put into any defensive game plans..... He is a constant threat to score.

Nicely put. How has life been treating you jmizzy.

You are reading stats. He had to play all 5 positions on the court at one time or another. He's been our most consistent defensive player and he's a big reason this team doesn't quit. Regardless of what the stats say, this team is better with him on the court. He doesn't deserve the garbage the people on this board dump on him.

don't believe the horrible announcers from the oswho game .. cade played the point about 0 times in that game and he played the 5 0 times in that game

Spoken like a man who knows his hoops! :clap

Sad to say, but game planning to stop Oklahoma this year is not rocket science. Put a hand up when Pledge and Cade have the ball on the perimeter. Double team Fitz on the inside. It's that simple.

There have been times this year when he has had to bring the ball up and get us into our offense when there is pressure, that is playing the point. There have also been times when he has played in the middle of a 2-3 zone, that is playing the 5. So he has played every position on the floor at some point this season

It doesn't matter. The point has been made by people who know a lot more about basketball than I do.

He is definitely in a slump right now, no doubt. Not a liability by any means.

Said it at the beginning of the season, we are going to be at our best when Cade takes around 10-11 shots per game, unless he's on fire. He needs to be in the mix offensively because it helps us go, but I would rather have those extra 4-5 shots going to Clark, Fitz or whoever is going that game.

Now, whether or not Clark receives those extra touches and shoots is another thing. Six shots in two games, I know he's not that aggressive and wants to fit into the team concept but he has to shoot more...plain and simple.

Old coach once told me, it is sometimes selfish not to shoot.
