It’s a good question. I’d say that in college sports, running it up doesn’t offend me much. That said, I would hope that most coaches will realize that far and away the better option to help your rankings isn’t to run it up on awful teams, but to play a better schedule. They limited spread in the old BCS so teams did not feel they had to run it up. So should they do that in basketball? Say. You get credit for 20 point spread max in calculations? Just thoughts
If we go 1 game under in conference we are in easilyIt's easy to see that we're paying the price for the bottom-feeders on our schedule. But, unlike last year, we won the big game (Michigan as opposed to the UNC loss) so that should give us a little grace. .500 in the SEC will get us in with ease. One game under and a conf tournament flameout and we'll be sweating again.
I thought we were in last year. I won't say anything definitively this year.If we go 1 game under in conference we are in easily
this is SOR strength of record ..
Almost all the metrics don’t like us. There was a blurb about it today in The Athletic where they compared us to similar teams over the past decade and in general, those teams have not ended up doing all that well over the course of the season.
What an unnecessary comment with the only possible goal of creating non-constructive arguments and/or derailing a thread. A bit hypocritical how you’re doing the very thing here that many - yourself included - complain that other posters on this board do in creating unnecessary dissension, don’t you think? Can we all not agree to just be above this type of sarcastic, petty behavior?
Who are you calling a clown? Wichita? The beat writer from the Athletic? Or the graphic artist who created the grid that showed the recent performance of teams with a resume similar to us?
I know I just thought it was interesting the top 5 were SECthis is SOR strength of record ..
The SEC is very likely getting 12 teams in. If we go go 8-10 we are in easily imoI thought we were in last year. I won't say anything definitively this year.
Well, I thought we were in easily last year, so...The SEC is very likely getting 12 teams in. If we go go 8-10 we are in easily imo
We were. Gave Virginia a freebie.Well, I thought we were in easily last year, so...
That was complete bull****.We were. Gave Virginia a freebie.
Calling my shot - ou getting to 23 wins and will be a 3 or 4 seed.
23 would be huge. I think 21 and OU is a lock. 20 wins and OU is at the mercy of bid stealers like Virginia again. I have hope that both Zona and Michigan can stay Q-1 wins. That would help a lot.we really need to get back to the kelvin days....winning at home.
winning 8/9 at home and 2/9 on the road should not be asking too much.
i think this team can get there...and that's your 23 w's
lol.Looking purely at win totals is overly simplistic. Depends who those wins come against. Eight conference wins last year would have been enough if more than two of them had been against the truly good teams. Also, not getting curb stomped like we did a few times would make a big difference. When you play in a great league, you get tons of chances to beat great teams. The committee wants to see that you can actually do it more than once in a blue moon.
