Well, football sucks. Bring on BBall season!

Just watched K St drive 90 yds on 18 plays. Our D looks like they are playing flag football.
Really embarrassing

I wouldn't be shocked if Lon's defense gives less points than Mike Stoops

Slowly, but surely, I'm starting to see some incremental improvement in the back 7. There are still busts and big plays given up, but I don't see as many WRs running free as we saw earlier in the season. I also believe the defense only called 1 timeout on Saturday....and I don't think it was actually because of alignment issues....so that's a start. However, the defense does need to start creating turnovers to offset the long drives that seemingly give up more than they should.

K-State is the type of team that makes you play ugly, so this was a nice win and the step in the right direction. @Tech could play out many different ways, but we should score a ton and hopefully run the ball effectively enough to eat up some clock. I'm looking at a 52-38 type of game.

Thank God Mike Stoops isn't responsible for the defense on our basketball team.:facepalm

Final score: OU 66 - TTU 59

I love a good defensive football game! :ez-roll:

I told my wife that OU would need to score on every possession in the 2nd half in order to win ...... and they did. The one good thing the D did in the 2nd half was the 3 and out on their first possession of the half. That allowed us to maintain that 7-14 point cushion.

Also, gotta comment on that 2 play drive at the end of the half with 37 seconds on the clock. That was huge for momentum.

Who was the last dominating linebacker we had. I think that is at least part of the reason for our terrible third down failures on D.

That was the worst football game I've ever watched from start to finish that involved the University of Oklahoma. I've never felt this way after a win. Just disgusted.

If Tech were to hire Mike Stoops as a defensive coach, both teams would get better.

I couldn't agree more!

I also have a feeling of helplessness about our defense unlike anything in my recent memory. With few exceptions, outside of perhaps our defensive line, our defense appeared to be lost at times, out of position more often than not, and completely overmatched by Tech's skill players.

I am at a loss to understand how our defensive secondary could allow TTU's receivers to be wide open time after time the entire game? Some say its a lack of talent, some say it's coaching. I think the answer may be a combination of the two. But, even if it's a deficiency in talent, the blame falls squarely on the coaching staff, more specifically on Mike Stoops.

One thing is clear, our coaches have to do a better job of evaluating and bringing in talent on defense. That's on Mike, and to a great extent on his brother who seems to struggle with cutting his losses when it comes to making a decision that affects a family member or close friend.

Tech threw the ball downfield much more than normal. Blitzing Mahomes would have likely led to quicker/shorter passing routes, routes which would have been run in front of the defense as opposed to behind it. How it could have been worse escapes me.
