West Virginia

This is the greatest win for OU in I can't remember when.

What a tremendous victory.

I don't care how many points #5 had, Stu and others really clamped down on her.

Man, Vivi. What a performance.

Little - 50 minutes and 13 points
Ortiz - 48 minutes and 9 points
Dungee - 39 minutes and 9 points
Carter - 34 minutes and 14 points
Pierre-Louis - 31 minutes and 33 points

WVU seemed to be determined to keep Gabby from shooting 3s. She only attempted one. I'm sure they thought with Maddie out, that would be all they needed to do.

Magnificent effort! I couldn't be more proud. I think Vivi learned more about herself that could be useful in the future. She can play tired, and she can play when defended. She has to be smarter. Beautiful kickout to Derica.

They went over ten minutes without a field goal until that three-pointer in OT. Free throws kept them in the game. They aren't that good of a free throw shooting team. They only shoot 69.5% from the line. Tonight, 24 of 27, 88.88%

Everyone did something good tonight. Until the fourth quarter, it looked like nobody would do something good. Several made key plays. But, Vivi and Gabbi had a night to remember.

Just got home from the game. We missed Maddie early, unsettled, and not in sync. But all those seniors gave us the maturity to hang around, grind, grind, and then win on grit. When their senior center, Montgomery, fouled out we just fed it inside and let ViVi carry us offensively, and dug in on defense. Great TEAM win.

Grit and determination!!!! Couldn't have won it without everybody's contribution, but the game ball goes to ViVi........Rest well tonight, ladies...You deserve it !!!!

Wow, after three quarters of some stupid basketball, what a game. Vivi was just a beast and would not be denied. Sherri hit it on the head, once the kids started playing as a team, and taking what the defense was giving them, it turned the tide. Just a gritty victory that will serve them well. When it came to crunch time, the gals buckled down and took care of biz. Really proud of all the girls that played tonight, each one contributed.

Sherri mentioned that they missed Maddie's voice, and communication on the floor, but they finally over came that and on to victory. One of the best Sooner games I have ever seen.

inoref, I guess the coaches and the players wanted to win game after you said they didn't

First women's game I've seen in person, and boy was it a good one. Pierre-Louis looked like the second coming of Courtney Paris for the last 20 minutes of the game.

I was watching the players on the bench when we tied it up. Maddie and T'ona were the only ones not jumping up and down. I thought to myself that someone had impressed upon them to not do any jumping around. Must have been hard for them.

Biggest win of the season thus far. Maddie's absence showed, but Vivi wanted that dang ball like nobody I have seen in a long time. Now we got to win in Lubbock. Then we got a weeek of before Texas? Maddie could be back by that time. Let's go girls. Huge game at tech coming up- we win that we could sail right through Maddie's injury and even see a few outbreak at the same time.
Great game vivi. Star effort

Tech is good though ladies. Really big game for us. Hope they are prepared.

Again, Vivi looked like Courtney tonight. Unbelievable.

When was the last time we won a big game that? Texas a couple of years ago? The last time we beat Baylor.

What an amazing, gritty determined effort.

Everyone contributed!

I don't know that we will have Maddie back by then. But, tonight did pretty much guarantee that OU finishes no worse than a tie for fourth in the Big Twelve.

Texas 13-0
Baylor 12-1
Oklahoma 10-3
Kansas State 7-5
Iowa State 4-8
West Virginia 4-8
Oklahoma State 3-8
Texas Tech 3-8
TCU 3-8
Kansas 1-11

If OU were to lose every remaining game, only Kansas State could move past them. Kansas State would have to beat Texas to tie us if we were to lose every remaining game. Any other team cannot lose a single game and tie us. So, we probably locked up the #3 or #4 seed at the Big Twelve. By then, Maddie may be healthy, and Vivi has learned what she can do.

T'Ona was walking around gingerly so I'm not sure she will be back soon. We really need her back, especially since Maddie is out for an indefinite period of time.

Great win and wow VIVI! My only question what happened to Williams? Never saw her in the second half? Not hurt I hope

This was the best basketball game of the season, men's or women's, the ladies put it all on the line. Boomer Sooner to our OU ladies

Here is the early game story - shame on SoonerSports.com for using the word dominate incorrectly!

Actually I thought the Sooners were very dominate in the fourth quarter when they made their comeback. They out scored WVU 23-11, held them to 1-13 from the line and 0-4 BTA. To me that is dominate on both ends of the court.

Definitely didn't maintain that dominance once they got the game back to even but did enough to win and that is what is important.
