What an embarrassing game. 70% is coaching 30% unskilled players. We have no offensive scheme, soft players that don't block out, turnover the ball like a high school girl, and limited talent in the first place.
SFA gets layups we take double teamed shots. We could lose to any team anynight, what a joke

Worst group of basketball players in OU history. Can't defend, can't shoot.

No. This groups is no way worse than Cade Davis's senior year when he played the 4. Lord, you people are a reactionary bunch.

This is a decent team except the starting lineup needs to change.

The problem with this team is, they are young in several key spots and they will learn. We should not give up on this team, we all most show our support for them, if we give up - they will give up. LK has his team going in the right direction, we have to learn from the mistakes and while I agree this is not a good lose, it will benefit in the long run.

They need to go back to the veteran lineup. These young guys getting so many minutes is killing this team.

So we are going to ignore pledger going 0-6 from three? Fitz only having 2 rebounds? Ro only having 3? Buddy Hield Leading the team in Rebounding? Hornbeak having as many points as pledger with 5 fewer shots? You're right blame it all on the new guys :facepalm

Amath, Cousins, Pledger, Fitz, Cam, Neal, and Ro all had bad games. That's 2 new guys 5 returning guys

I'm not going to overreact from this game too much. For one, I think SFA is a pretty good team and will prove that out as they play in the Mid-Con or whatever conference they are currently members.

For two, if Ro doesn't get the ticky-tac 4th foul called with 7 or 8 minutes left, we win the game and it's all a moot point.

By the end of the season, this team will be the best team we've seen since BG left and the results will prove that. The youth has to grow up, M'Baye has to show up, and besides Ro bigs need to get up (sorry, couldn't resist) and get more physical (i.e. Fitz).

Best post I've seen this morning, Booger. Boy, it gets rough around here after a Sooners' loss. Makes me wonder if I'm really on an OU basketball board or I've somehow stumbled into a circus. Just one clown post after another.

We have new guys playing a lot of minutes with a veteran team and this team looks worst than last years team. The proof is in the pudding. Losing at home to SFA, Trailing ORU most of the game and beating them by 1 when we beat them last year by 14, Trailing Northwestern State most of the game and only winning by 4 when we beat them by 20 last year. Losing to Arkansas when we beat them last year by 15.

We look like an inexperience team and its showing up in the score board.

Guess what, your boy Capel lost at home to Stephen F Austin with a team that had Blake Griffin and most of those examples are games that were home last year and road this year. If you think that doesn't make a difference than you know absolutely nothing about sports.

We played Northwestern State at home this year.

And he also made it to the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament that year.

He also beat a top 25 ranked Gonzaga team that year as well.

With Blake Griffin. Give Kruger Blake and we get past the Elite 8

Doubtful. UNC dominated us (especially Hansboro) and won the national title. I don't think it mattered who was coaching against UNC that afternoon. We had Blake, they had 'Hans' and then the next three or four best players on the court. Capel, even with all his deficiencies during his tenure at OU probably took as far as any coach could have given the match ups that tournament.

WE would have been a one seed and not had the same draw.

Thats just Naive. We lost to the NCAA champions. And we should have been a 1 seed but they wanted to see a Griffin/Hansbrough matchup...and they got it.

That's some serious revisionist history right there. Oklahoma really didn't lose any games that weren't possible losses no matter the coach; Maybe Texas and Arkiesaw on the road could have flipped to Ws but we were really the third or fourth #2 seed that season (#7/8 overall in the bigger scheme). There is no way were were going to leap over Pitt, UNC, Louisville, or UConn for a #1 with the seasons they had; Probably doubtful the committee would have bumped us over Memphis or Duke either. The only difference in match ups might have been the difference between UNC and Pitt and going through Pitts bracket would have had the tougher road to get to them.

We wouldn't have been a one seed. Pitt, UConn, UNC, and Louisville had those easily on lock before the brackets were ever released. The question was which 2 seed we were going to receive and while UNC was probably the most difficult Elite 8 match up we could have drawn it was also probably also the easiest to get there of all the brackets for both Oklahoma and UNC.
