What happened in the last 3.5 seconds?

Re: WTF happened in the last 3.5 seconds?

I didn't think he walked either.....I thought the whistle was going to be a "and one".

I have been totally getting crushed on call at work this week. I laid down to take a 30 minute power nap around 7:00pm. AAAAAAANNNNNNNDDDDDD:, I JUST WOKE UP!!!!!:facepalm:facepalm

Sounds like I should have stayed asleep.....:confused:

I hate 1 point losses.

What was Capel's reaction? Honest question, I didn't see and didn't DVR it. Was he calling for the team to foul or to play defense? It seems like something a coach simply has to be on top of.

Can't blame the guys for thinking it was a 3. Even Nebbish thought it was 3 because look how they rushed down the court to get a last second shot. I was watching it at my friend's house on a gigantic screen TV and I thought it was 3...It was hard to tell from our angle because the Nebraska defender was right in front of Cade.

i agree completely. and by his reaction after the horn sounded and waiting for the officials to review the play, it sure seemed like he thought it was a 3.

ok, tony, i just watched the replay. capel was telling everyone to get back, play defense and put their hands straight up so not to foul. pledger is the only player who recognized what happened, looked at capel for what to do after cade made it, and disregarded capel's plea and went flying to the ball to foul. major credit to pledger for his awareness, he just couldn't make the foul.

Capel should have had a TO to use, hindsight is 20/20.

Re: WTF happened in the last 3.5 seconds?

From my seat on row 18 in the lower bowl it looked like a three, but I saw the ref holding up two fingers. For those of you who watched on TV, did Fitz really walk before the shot he made that was called off? It looked like he dribbled and shot cleanly from my viewpoint in the stands.
I thought he traveled but the whistle came VERY late. So late, as a matter of fact, that I thought for sure it was for an "and 1".

That sequence put my soul through the ringer.

Thanks! Agree that Pledger should get major props. Seems he was the only person on the floor without a whistle who realized what was going on.

No, he did not walk. They showed a replay. He did not walk...and I said to myself : "I hope this play doesn't come back to haunt us." And it did.... REFS ????????????????? grrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate seeing great effort like that going unrewarded because some ref decides to call something that can be called almost every time down the court.

He should have kicked it out...
