First, for this season, then next.
I guess depending upon how well they do this season could affect your opinion for next. Just curious as to opinions upon how good they need to play.

Also, this morning I read a preseason Big 12 poll that had us listed at 7 (?). If that is indeed our place in the Big 12 at the end of the season, how will you feel? Still have hope Sherri can change it around? Want a coaching change, other? I know how I feel and I do not want to argue nor be hateful towards anyone in the program, whether I think they should be there or not. I also know this group does not represent the entire fans following the program. It is just one place where I can ask. It may seem that I am trying to start off negative, but that is not it. We all know that there are many questions as to how this team and coaches. .
.program may fair. Just curious about opinions upon what if's.

I feel about wbb like I do about OU football. If we don't compete for a conference championship, OU is not doing the quality job it should. There are years with injuries, ups and downs with any team, but a dip in performance causes several years of not being in the race 3/4 of the way into the season means some changes need to be made.
We have new assistants-a change we hope is for the good.
We failed again to recruit a center-type player to rebound and play defense. We know that is bad.
Lets see this year if we can compete for conference and NCAA bracket consideration.
I dropped my Sooner Club contribution and season tickets, and went with the One Pass. I really think we have several years of underachievement without enough consequences.

So a successful seasons needs at least 15-16 wins and at least a mention in NCAA selection. And make the tourney next year

For me, if we can double our wins over last year and by luck get an WNIT bid that would be successful, I would not be happy with less than 18 wins next year and would not surprise me if we are two years away from any consideration for another NCAA bid. Just my opinion.

I want to see whether we have a healthy Scott. It would be nice if Bloom, Williston, or Lampkin would settle in on defense. I had better feelings about Aspen and Clair.

I suspect that we will be out of the hunt for the title since we have no real post. But, we may have so many other viable pieces that we could be competitive with about anyone outside Waco. We didn't really lose much, and we did bring in some useful talent. Let's see how at least this weekend pans out.

My optimism is a bit higher after watching OU beat Prairie View A&M. Defense was sound. I didn't think we shot well. But, we got some high percentage layups with quick hands that made it look good. We made the layups.

We didn't play the starters a lot. Lemon fouled out with about a minute left.

I am very pleased with the progress of Tatum. Looks a lot better this year. Williston may be a player. Strong.

We dominated every aspect of this game: shooting, rebounding, defense. I think the officials were trying to help them at the end of the game, and really couldn't. They started well, but came apart when we made our run late in the first quarter. Never got it back. Not a great game for Ana, Mandy, or Jessi. Good, not their best efforts.

I agree with your assessment. The three kids that just really impressed me through out the game were Tatum, Gabby, and Aspen. Tatum played like the kid I expected, really proud of her. Gabby is going to be a beast once she gets comfortable with the college level, won't take her long. Aspen is the biggest surprise to me. To see how far she has come since her senior year in high school is phenominal. She is tough, run the pick and roll almost to perfection, and plays strong on the block. Her minutes will greatly expand as she continues to improve. We may have found our center for the foreseeable future. This team really needed a game like this. Can't wait for Sunday.

The trio of Maddi, Ana and Taylor will put up a lot of points and that will give us a shot in many games. I think we can at least split against anyone but Baylor and maybe Texas. We usually split with West Virginia no matter how good or bad they are or how good or bad we are.

I think Missouri State will give us a fairly good outlook as to the level of our improvement. Oregon State is finding their way with their big freshman inside players (Jones and Brown) and the big girls got exposed by the Pacific center who went of for 32 points and kept Jones on the bench with fouls. If we can knock them off we are probably good enough to have a winning season.

Hard to tell about next year because recruiting wise we only know of Tot, another guard who unless is a top 10-20 player will not make that much difference. We will still have a gaping hole in the middle. Maddi, Ana and Taylor look to be a lot better this year but how much more can we expect them to improve. Gabbi should come along and Scott will help us inside if healthy. Since everyone will be returning I think we could have a shot at making the tournament again next season.
