I agree with you on Thompson but I disagree on Newell. He should be playing the two not the one. If OU lands Cesar then I think you will see Calvin move over to the two spot and Blair be the backup to Cesar.

I'm not ready to write off Newell, but he is playing out of position. I would like to see him used more at the 2 since our season is over.

I agree, however, his shooting has been horrendous this year... thought he would be a much better shooter.

again you missed the point, did you see Fitzgerald and Pledger play last year? They both looked lost many times, but look at the improvement they made in one offseason. Lets give Newell the same chance is all many are saying.

Pledger went through a stretch of shooting like 8% from 3 over a 12 game period. You can't get much worse than that. Not to mention the off court problems. Believe it or not it takes some guys time to adjust to the college game. Not to mention Calvin is playing out of position.

Newell is a guy that needs a year to adust. He is forced to play (as a freshman) because we don't have anyone else on the team that can split time at the point. Newell is not a wasted schollie and will be a solid player for OU as he progresses throught his career. Thompson is a wasted schollie as of right now. If he can bulk up and play the 5 next year I may change my position, but i'm not holding my breath.
