Will Capel survive?

let me start out by saying i have no insider info, but i think Joe C. will give Capel 1 more yr, the last thing Joe wants to do is admit this hire failed so i look for no changes until after the 2011-2012 season and hopefully it will happen then.

I agree as much as I don't think another year will do us any good with Capel. I just don't see next year being any better with this style of play or lack there of.

I don't know what will actually happen, but here's what I would like to see happen.

Replace Coach Capel at the end of this season and hire a defensive minded coach.

I don't see a change with the ncaa thing hanging out there.
Not ideal search conditions. The only way it happens is if
we get a project like Billy G and I don't see this admin doing
that.

:clap :clap :clap Unless you're a topflight program (let's face it...we aren't right now) defensive-minded coaches are the best coaches to have...you don't need a ton of 5-star recruits if you can play good defense. Example is Bo Ryan and Wisconsin who make the tournament every year despite not having extremely talented players. Now, Bo does have some difficulties once he gets into the tournament but that's a different story lol

If he fires out an 0-16 he has to be gone. That would be without question the worst season in the modern era of Oklahoma basketball, if not ever.
