this thread dear God please please when this OU team goes to the sweet 16 please stop following the sooners

WTH are you smoking?

lol....okay man. I'm not necessarily saying LK needs fired, this year..but continue this and yes.

Based on this poll I believe a small minority of voters are keeping the board threads flowing. It gives the impression Lon is in trouble which does not help him or the program recruiting. They are not helping, if they really care call the AD and stop giving other schools ammunition for recruiting battles.

the poll asks IF he will keep his job, not do we want him to keep his job.

As I said, he's getting close (for me) to being let go. Do I think Joe C will do that...no way.

So even though you think he keeps his job you want the program to struggle to facilitate his being fired. And you are saying the majority of voters agree with you.

I'm saying that communicating it directly to the AD would be far more effective than helping with a decline in recruiting. 4 or 5 people starting several threads each give a impression that Lon is in trouble. Other schools will use that in recruiting battles. Last night I saw a far far bigger crowd than last year and you say those people want Lon gone.

what? NO, I'm saying the poll ask IF he will keep his job. I don't think Joe C will fire him after this year. IF the program continues to struggle then yes, I'd like to see a change. The team issues this year are on the staff. Whether it's due to the assistance that LK hired or managing the egos this year, whatever it needs to be addressed.

I think MOST people on here see an issue and think there might need to be a change but again don't think there will be.

You think other coaches read this board and use our dumbass opinions for recruiting? LOL...that's funny. I've never seen Joe C on here so I doubt our opinions mean jack. I also doubt the REALLY big boosters come on here as well.

Kruger is going to stay for as long as he wants and will leave on his terms.

You may be surprised to learn that someone in Joe C’s office monitored this board regularly several years ago. Word is he’s the one who directed them to do it.

Some of the players back then (Blake, Taylor and Cade among them) registered under one account so they could see what posters were saying after a game. I was told they did it as a joke. Gave them something to laugh about. Capel’s mother was also a member here. So was Jeff Capel. He signed up so he could participate in the OUHoops NCAA tournament bracket.

I doubt if the board attracts that much attention now. But, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility coaches or fans from other schools might use the events of the past few days against OU in their recruiting. The fire Lon Kruger threads definitely gives them plenty of ammunition.

I would say the university monitored it for "informational" purposes more than anything. Recruiting violations, etc. In today's world I would say most universities have someone that "monitors" the boards for things as such.

As a parent if my kid was concerned about what message boards said about a program recruiting him I'd be concerned for my kid's sanity.

It's "water cooler" talk...without the water cooler and everyone working together. Isn't the internet amazing...

Just my 2 cents...

Thing is this team could make the sweet 16. If they shoot well from 3 point range, they are very tough to beat. If they shoot well and you mistakenly run with them, I don’t think you can beat this OU. If the shoot average and you make them grind out possessions, I think virtually every tournament team can beat this team. Maybe be not the 14-16 seeds. With that said not every team will be able to force them to grind out possessions.

Joe C. won't fire him.

However, he could very well say, "Enough!" and resign/retire. In this case, he would need to make sure he could line up a job for his son.

With next year shaping up to be a disaster, Lon would be smart to step away.

Next year is absolutely not shaping up to be a disaster. What a ridiculous thing to say!

I'd be surprised if next year's team isn't better than this year's.

We return everyone else and have talent. Kam and James will be a great 1 2 scoring punch

How are we going to improve going from one of the best point guards in the country to Jordan Shepherd?

Price, unfortunately I believe you are wearing big time crimson glasses. I wish you were right but OU is gonna be ugly next year. This team showed that they were just like last years team But with TY he elevated us to a tourney team. Without TY this year we would have been about an 8 win team staying home in March. I Love Lon but he needs to recruit better players IMO.

Need help at point, absolutely!
Seniors and juniors, 5 or more core players are upperclassmen.

This is just a ridiculous statement. If Trae had gone to Kansas or Kentucky, they would've brought in someone else who obviously wouldn't have been as good but would've given more opportunities to others. It's like you're saying that, since TY averages 29 PPG the team would lose 29 PPG from their total.

The team would've been different but, IMO, not that much worse without Trae.

Jordan Shepherd won't be the PG next year.

Who the hell is then? True freshman Bienemy? McGusty and is 0.3 APG? James?

If you say we add a good grad transfer at PG than I could see us being a fringe tourney team. It's going to be a disaster if we don't though.
