I can’t decide. I don’t think they deserve it. If they do, it’s only because of Sherri’s rep.

Is this a fan board or an I hate oU and their coaches board? Please tell me 64 other teams that “deserve” it more than this team? Do other winners of automatic bids because they won their conference “deserve” it although they are maybe not as talented? Do other teams because they played an easier schedule “deserve” it because that’s the path they chose? No i don’t think anyone is happy about losses on this schedule but to say kids don’t deserve something is a hard word to justify in a system where all things are not equal. JMO
I hope Sooners get in but if they don’t will i rant no because when you leave the decision in someone else’s hands it’s out of your control. We needed to control what we could early on but again i think these kids deserve to be a top 64 team.

Leans slightly to hate OU and their coaches.

If you look at the schedules and results of those who might be under consideration (5-7 in their conference), you will discover that they really have no claim at all. If you have never beaten a top fifty team outside your conference, why should you be considered if you haven't played anyone?

I would like to see the Sooners make it into the tournament, I just have a hard time with a team 2 games above .500 worthy of inclusion. The matrix says yes according to SOS and RPI, just because you have the 2nd toughest schedule in the country, shouldn't you win some of those games. Their bad losses doesn't sit well with me. But in or out I still support them.

Before you make up your mind, take a look at some of the competition. Creme says seven teams from the Pacific Twelve should make the tournament. About three are in the top thirty. So, four of the seven are ranked below OU in rpi.

Look at the records of those four teams. They have better W/L records than OU. Can you find any other reason that they should be in the tournament? Had they played out non-conference schedule, they probably would have been about 3-8.

Now, do that with each conference.

Oklahoma and WVU were just listed by the NCAA committee as a "Final 8" list. it was a list of 8 bubble teams in which there were 4 teams in and 4 teams out. It was just on ESPN.

I think they get in. That Sooner surge in the back half of the conference season was impressive. The SOS is solid. It may be close, like an 11,12, or even a 13 seed, but I believe they make it.
I think most of us here expected more this season and are disappointed, but the team didn't cave and played better ball. Losing that tourney game to the Phrogs stung a lot. I may be wrong, but had they advanced another game I don't think we'd be wondering about this.

One quality win....hard for me to justify it but I'll sure take it if they get in.

Playing tough teams is good but win more than one.

I think there at many years that this finish may not get you in...my point isn’t based on whether i am happy we lost a game we should not have or based on the fact we played closer than 95% of teams played Baylor up until the final 2 minutes.....it is simply based on the teams that should be in bracket of 64. This year this team belongs based on all the things the committee says they need to grow the game. Period.

I like our chances with that list. We have the best RPI of the bunch and are 30 spots higher than some on that list. As #35 RPI, how do you not get in?

Looks like we might make it. I’d like to see them play again.

As much as a shock to the program of not getting to the tourney might help the program on some level. And that's certainly up for debate.
Cannot debate that the Clemson Russell Athletic Bowl debacle led to massive changes in football that have led OU back to being a top five program.
So sometimes those dark moments are the impetus of positive change.

I think even limping into the tourney is probably for the best.
It maintains the streak which I think helps in recruiting.
It gets Ana/Shaina exposure to tourney play. Every more minute of experience is key to 2019.
Seeing Ana/Shaina show out in the tourney could be a big sell in recruiting. Come be a part of the rebirth of OU hoops. Sell the future.

I think OU is in. I hope OU is in. Although, this SC team has done nothing to deserve being in the tourney. They are average, at best, and have done nothing special.

If this were softball, OU would be in, maybe as high as a 6 seed. Realtimerpi has us in as an 8. Sagarin says we are the #24 or 26 team in the country (latter us predicted number). Softball goes almost exclusively by rpi. We weren't a top 8 seed last year, even as defending national champions.

But, this is basketball. I''ll be surprised either way.

I think we are probably in, if we are, because of Sherri’s reputation - not because of our play.

We won’t play more than one if we are — unless a miracle strikes.

It will be close. Just like our poll.

One thing seems pretty obvious. We should finished ahead of WV. Here is why. We finished 3rd in the conference, they finished 6th. We have a better RPI. We have a stronger SOS. We swept the series between the two teams.

Why in the world has Creme had them ahead of us for weeks? What could his logic possibly be?
