Will Trae Stay or Go?

I honestly don't see why he is considered a pro after the way he has played the last 13 games, His shooting percentage for the season is pathetic.. Pros don't shoot that poorly in college....

Lol. Did you do any research to back up this theory?

He is gone. He doesn't like the situation or Kruger. Hopefully they can get hot on make a run this post season!!!

I agree that there are "problems", but I'm not sure TY has one with Lon. Why would he? Lon basically lets him do what he wants on offense, and doesn't require that he play defense. TY probably loves that.

theoretically I agree with you. But I have also noticed the look on trae's face.

I think Young is more unhappy with his own play than anything else. Easily understood when you recall how easy it was for him in the pre-conference period.

There is a certain subset, most of whom have terrible, misinformed takes on just about every subject, have decided it's a great idea to just bash Trae for anything and everything.

Wanna know why Trae hasn't looked happy lately? Because he's not playing as well as he would like, and the team isn't winning. It's pretty damn simple.

On top of this, for anyone that has ever played sports or just taken pride in anything you do, if you didn't do something well that your expect out of yourself, I'm sorry but you aren't happy about it. In this regard, if the team wins and Trae doesn't play well and looks "unhappy", it's about his own personal performance not about the team. Is that selfish? Possibly but it's also the reason him and other players are as good as they are because they hold themselves accountable for better results. That doesn't mean he can't be happy for other guys that have been playing well lately like CJ and KG which I'm sure he is and for the team as well. But we don't get to see those moments just the times he looks pissed at the world or like he's pouting. Overall, if you asked TY if he'd be happy playing like crap but winning the national title I find it hard to belive he'd be mad about that after maybe a few seconds ;)

I remember when West Virginia won in Norman and when they interviewed Javon Carter he was visibly upset because in his mind he didn't play well. I didn't take it that he wasn't happy they won the game but he holds himself to a certain standard and he didn't meet it in his mind.

Different players show things in different ways.

The family isn't happy with the fans. They think we are to critical and not supportive of him.

Probably true to some degree but when you get the praise like he did earlier this year you get the heat when it falls apart like it did in the last month. Either way what does it matter he's leaving regardless.

It's funny b/c if it was any other player besides Trae, everyone would be bashing them for pouting and not caring. But b/c its trae, its not ok to point it out. Remember James struggles last year? His body language was terrible and most here pointed it out all the time.

And at some point, when you ahve been pouting for over a month, it turns in to more than just a personal performance dissappointment. It affects everybody and everything. Especially when you are so absorbed into your own performance that you can't even celebrate your team's few accomplishments or good plays.

Its selfish.

The thing they still don't realize is that we are supportive of OU over a freshman player. Especially one that comes in as a self proclaimed savior, ruins chemistry, starts playing bad, sulks, and still doesn't change the things that need to change for the team to be successful.

They think Trae is OU basketball. He isn't

Sounds about right coming from you. Thankfully, your takes don't represent the overwhelming majority of Sooner fans.

so you think most ou basketball fans put Trae above the program and think he is bigger than the program?

No, you and a slim minority that have some conception of Trae being bigger than the program. You think a 65 year old hall of fame coach is being kowtowed by a 19 year old who will be gone in 2 weeks, and it's just laughable. Trae works his ass off, and has produced big results for an otherwise thoroughly mediocre team. His only crime is that he played too well the first couple months of the season, and the regression to the mean has been painful.
