I'm going with no. Almost did it last night after the Newell air ball, and then when Thompson got stripped in the lane by Justin Bieber when we were looking for the go ahead score at one point. The gouging of the eyes is probably gonna happen for me.

Yes. The Coppin State game was fun for me to see. When the ball goes in the hole it is pretty. When it doesnt, it's not.

I'm going with yes. Wins we can handle when they play sloppy. But if they can manage to play good basketball even when they lose then yes I can manage to not gouge my eyes out.

Realistically we all know this team is not going to be very good come conference play. But if they can play good fundamental basketball then the year will go much easier and they could suprise with with a few unexpected wins. But if the play sloppy basketball it could be rough. Ultimatley I think they will conituously get better and play sound basketball throughout the season.

if i didn't gouge them out last year there is no way i will this year

Last season? No. This season? Yes. There are no lofty expectations this year. The only way this team underachieves is if the bus fails to find the opposing teams arena by gametime. I have no post-season ambitions for this team. Every game is an L that could possibly be upgraded to a W. None of this is the fault of any of the current players. The coaches, maybe. But, definitely not the players. Kudos to those who stayed for giving a #%$#$ and kudos to those who came for taking a shot.

they were gouged by the end of regulation after 1-19 from 3 pt range; I then re-inserted them after Pledger hit 2 3's.

I'm conflicted on this. If the team continues to play hard and play together and we see some promise for the future, then I'll be okay. That being said, it's going to be tough for me to stomach all the losses.

Having said that, I will gauge the eyes of the refs who intentionally gave a ball that was never in OUs possession and never out of bounds to Carolina Central with a new shot clock after the shot clock expired. They saw the replay and intentionally attempted to steal the game.

I'm sure that is exactly what they said over by the monitor. They probably work for ESPN too.

Agree with this, can find some silver lining in the games now...but when we are getting pounded by Baylor (can't imagine saying that 2 years ago) it is going to be tough.

For the first time in years I entered the season with no preconceived ideas about winning championships or even playing in the NCAA tourney. Thus, with realistic expectations for a change about a team with few potential stars and so many new faces, a YES was easy for me. It's something I haven't tried before, but I recommend it highly. :)

At one point during the game, I popped open a beer and used a line from my favorite all-time movie: "It looks like I picked a bad week to quit drinking." Seriously, I'm proud of the way this team never gave up. There isn't an abundance of talent, but there's apparently enough to play a terrible game and still win. That's not something I thought would be possible with this team.

i would bet a lot of money that we don't start another game 1-19 from 3 this season

Meh I dont expect much from this team. I know we are going to lost a lot of games. Im not going to over react when we look like crap.

I'm also going to throw it out there that another player that looks like Eminem is not likely to light it up against us from behind the arc this season. :ez-laugh:

P.S. Nick Thompson's tattoos were better than that guy's, I was so disappointed he did not shoot FTs in the 2nd half so I didn't get the chance to tell him that. :(

Last years team was not watchable. This years team looks like it's really fun to watch and they play team basketball. I think they could surprise a lot of people.

When Newell air balled that three I didn't get mad, I just chuckled.

There will be moment's when my "yes" is tested; but we are two games in with a bunch of new guys. I've relegated this season to hoping to see guys improve from start to finish, particularly guys that will be here for the long-term (more than one more year). We have a couple of top-tier athletes coming in at a position of weakness next season, with Newell, Clark, Fitz and Pledge all adding another year of D-1 experience and guys like Neal and TJ (although not playing) getting another year in the system.

Yes because I knew how bad we are going to be.

i have realistic expectations for this team and nothing will surprise me...while some were super pumped with the 20 pt victory against Coppin State i realize this team could very well turn right around and lose to similiar competition, which they almost did...

As sad as it sounds, i am just lookin for consistent hard play and development of players...i personally have written this season off as a rebuilding/retooling year with almost zero possiblity of post season play...
