Woodard injury - anybody know?

"Medical condition" doesn't sound like an injury to me. It sounds like something personal that either they aren't clear on or, for whatever reason, don't want to disclose because it's no one else's business.

Needless to say, the team needs him on the court but they're probably more concerned with Jordan's medical condition. I hope he gets that condition cleared up first, and then hope he can get back on the court. Without him, it's going to be a long season.

I was, all things considered, pretty pleased with the team's effort last night. They missed Woodard but they still had a lot of energy. If Woodard ends up missing the rest of the season, the players who play more as a result will benefit and it may end up helping the team next year. But it'll mean a lot of L's this year.

My first thought when I hear the phrase "no time table for their return" is a concussion....but I don't recall seeing or hearing about him in a collision or hitting his head. But I fear this is something long-term.

My gut tells me if it was a concussion, they would tell people it was a concussion. I don't see any reason not to and teams do that all the time. It's something else. I hope it's not serious.

On the ESPN crawl this morning they showed Woodard as DNP (leg). Don't know where they got that info.

That was what was reported for the Auburn game. I have no idea, but I will speculate that it isn't related. Toby indicated that he thought Woodard would be ready (and presented in a way that there wasn't any question).

I believe he's not playing because coach Lon wants him to not play. These guys must figure out they have to rely on themselves and when they get a little identity amongst themselves he will miraculously get better. or not.

I mean, I agree that if Woodard is not 100% that Lon might be letting these guys learn some hard lessons, but he's not holding a healthy Woodard out of competition unless there is something else going on.

I read an article on Thursday, I think, that said Jordan was practicing. I wonder if it could be something as simple as the leg felt tight on Friday so they decided to keep him out another game.

No chance

Why would a coach hold a guy out during his senior year, the year he's the man, to supposedly just get others experience? That's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard. I hope you're joking.

Surely he was being sarcastic. There's no way that could've been a serious post.

The announcers said that OU indicated it was unrelated to the earlier leg injury. They also said he wasn't in attendance. If it was something like the flu or a concussion, surely they would just say that. Strange to say the least.

Just read on another board that it could be depression. I don't like rumors, but it would certainly explain the silence/lack of information surrounding his absence and the "no timetable for return" explanation.

And clinical depression is a very serious health issue....and if this is indeed the case, he should take all the time he needs and get well before he comes back.

Well that's messed up. That poor kid. So young to be hit with stuff like that. This season would be a rather stressful one for him given the absence of his previous pack. He had a role where they let him be quiet and participate or even lead their flow. They worked as a group. Now he has to make a new one. Thats hard. And it's also why I say they're better off letting him come back in time as scoring help and let the mantle of authority drape on another.
