Anybody out there, other than the biased poke fans, that still think we got the 2nd best player out of the deal?

There was only one thing that Clark was suppose to do better than Woodard, and that was score/shoot the ball. I think Woodard is showing he is more than capable of scoring the basketball when need be, and he is the better true pg, better passer, and better defender of the two.

The recruiting services got this one wrong IMO. Some of that is due to the love of "scoring" those sites have, and some to Woodard's injury riddled senior season. But I'm glad we got the one we did.

As I was watching Woodard play tonight I was thinking this very thing... Don't understand how they could've been that far off... I believe that he was an3 star on most sights and an unranked four star at ESPN. Crazy.

The recruiting services weren't the only ones who got it wrong. I did, too. I can't deny that I really wanted Stevie Clark. A lot of us did for that matter. But I wouldn't trade Jordan for any freshman point guards I have seen at OU or any other Big 12 team in the last decade or more. He was awesome tonight!

Coach Kruger definitely knew what he was doing when he backed off of Clark and signed Jordan Woodard.

He has also stayed out of trouble. With Clark I'm legitimately worried he might not make it through his college career unless he figures things out.

Still a little early to tell, don't you think? Woodard was able to go to a team with a lot of point guard minutes available, while Clark went to one who didn't. I'm sure that plays a role, I'd wait until the day that both are starting (hopefully Clark sticks around to see that day) to make any any definitive decisions.

If Clark were better than Woodard, he would have been good enough to go to a basketball school.

I didn't get it wrong. I told everyone that would listen including this board that Woodard would be a four year starter from day one. Love where OU is headed.

Now I do get most everything else wrong!

Next year will be true measure when Clark gets the minutes. It's really apples and oranges. Clark fits OSU's system to a tee like Woodard fits OU's system.

IF he is still there next year

A more accurate measurement perhaps, but it's not apples and oranges. Clark is getting enough minutes to guage how he measures up against Woodard in playing the point.

Nothing against Stevie. As I said before, I really wanted him coming out of high school. But knowing what I know now about their performance on an off the court, I'm glad Woodard signed with OU.

Jordan is clearly the better player at this point. Perhaps Clark just hasn't quite bloomed as a D-1 player. Count me among those who are tickled that the Sooners wound up with Woodard.

Clark's problem is that the "curse of the aggot" has descended.:eddie187_jpg_xs:

If clark would've been a sooner. His scoring numbers would be higher, but we wouldn't have the team leader and assists that Jordan has.

Clark can score it. That head on the shoulders is the difference.

Jordan can score it too. He might not be the three point shooter that Clark is, but I think he is better off the dribble, and finishing in the lane. Wouldn't shock me if they were pretty equal in terms of offense after their college careers. Jordan is a VERY underrated offensive player. Much like Q White was.

Ive seen them both plenty. Clark is the better scorer. Jordan just does so many things really well. I'm glad we got the one we got.

Right now its tough to compare them. They are asked to play very different roles with Woodard needing to start and Clark backing up Smart. As long as Clark keeps the distractions away, I think we'll have some very special match ups in the coming years.

Woodard is bigger, thicker, and stronger than Clark. While that made no difference in HS, Clark will never be the college player Woodard will make.

Two different players, two different opportunities.

Woodard is a beast, it remains to be seen whether or not Clark will be able to positively effect a game like Woodard does. Stevie hasn't just really gotten the chance.
