It's about time he is benched. He is a liability on offense. Teams cheat off of him to help on Cousins, Buddy, Spangler or Thomas. And when open, he can't hit.

Had a stat line of: 0 points, 0-6 shooting, 1 rebound, 3 turnovers and 2 assists.

The struggles with this team are on the offensive end, and playing 4 on 5 on that end of the court is not going to help. Start Walker. Woodard does not do anything spectacularly that Walker could not. Just because he is not expected to score, does not mean he can.

1st: Walker isn't even the backup PG. 2nd: Relax.

I don't agree with benching Woodard, but Cousins is the backup PG and Walker could certainly play the 3rd guard spot if Woodard was benched.

Figured Walker would start, since the backup PG is already starting - Cousins.

I hope Woodard proves me wrong, but right now, he's not a D1 player.

He's just a woeful scorer and it's something we have to live with. Some will chirp in w/the "it will hurt his confidence if he's benched," but it already looks like something is hurt.

So Kruger has started JW as a true freshman and sophomore at OU and he isn't even a D1 player. If this is true CLK needs to retire immediately. :facepalm

Yearly shooting % updated.
11.5% 3 pt
30.6 overall

It was a bad night for Woodard, really bad. But our backup pg is cousins, and he isn't a pg either. Walker needs to keep working at pg and I'm hoping Pritchard is as good as people think he is.

I just remembered that Pritchard doesn't come in until '16. Kruger might ought to look for another pg.

For the most part it has been out of necessity/default.

He's regressed from last year and if you want to be a team that can compete for a Big 12 title and win a couple games in the tourney he just isn't that guy right now. Total liability in multiple facets of the game, Lon has to get him to man up or cut his minutes - it's not fair to the rest of the guys on this team.

So is he a d1 player?

Look, I agree Woodard has struggled offensively this season and his defense has always been a bit suspect but we don't have a better option at PG. Check that, we don't have another viable option at PG. So calling for him to be benched is counterproductive.

Course he is - now high D1 on the level for Oklahoma ? I think that's extremely debatable right now.

I don't think it's counterproductive by any measure to state that Walker needs to get more minutes unless Jordan steps up his game by a big margin. He isn't asked to create that much off the dribble for our other guys and Walker can at the least get to the rim when he wants to.

It's purely a function of being the weak link and nothing more. The game, like most sports, are measured by performance as portrayed by the stats derived.

41 minutes today.

free throws.......0-0.

I don't know how a pg doesn't go to the free throw line at least once in a ball game.

:facepalm

Maybe I'm getting too old....just looked at ksu's box score. All of their guards together only shot 2 free throws.

You did see what the offense looked like late in the game with him on the bench didn't you?

Course I did but some of that was a function of the offense we were trying to run at the time - I'm at most home games cheering on my Sooners as much as I can like I'm sure a lot of people on this board. I also saw a stretch at the beginning of the 2nd half when we went up by 1 then Jordan took 3 straight shots and they went on an 8-0 run.

Listen I know Jordan is a good kid and everyone wants him to do well but something really has to give sooner rather then later.

I told you guys awhile ago. Woodard is not the answer. I've played point guard as the smallest guy on the court. You have to hustle, be pesky/annoying on D, hit open shots on O, and setup your teammates with assists. Woodard doesn't do much of this at all. He seems to be going through the motions out there when he should be providing the energy.

Woodard probably the worst point guard in the Big 12.
