Xavier

Looks like about the same amount of people there as the bowl game tulsa was in today

good grief..some bad basketball being played now

Love the potential of Nancy Mulkey! She's growing as a player game by game!

They outshot us 46.3% to 43.3%. But, we were 50% from three, and we had fifteen more rebounds. Peyton with 19 and six boards. Maddie with 17 and 8 boards. Vivi, TT, and Nancy each had ten. Nancy also had seven boards in only 13 minutes.

We had several with good contributions. Gioya was lost. TT had three threes in the first half. Only had one FT in the second half.

Once we came back from down ten, we pretty much had the game in some stage of control the rest of the way. They whittled it down to one on our shooting choices at one point. But, it didn't take long to get it back to ten.

Peyton 13.2 ppg, 42.06% FG, 36.73% Three-point, 77.42% from the line
Maddie 11.7 ppg, 44.79% FG, 29.41% Three-point, 84.00% from the line, 5.3 reb
Maddie leads team with 21 steals. Peyton is second with 18.
Nancy at 58.06% FG.

Hopefully little has gotten her shooting touch back... She takes us from possibly 4th or 5th in conference to 2nd or 3rd I think she's that good of a player...

How about Big game Mulkey! she does keep getting better and better.

Well they looked sort of like they have all season, very good for three or four minutes and then not so good.

Can't watch, listen and no time to live stream. Glad we won.

I'm just glad Peyton got a bit of her shooting back. She's not been on point for a long time.

Sounds like Maddie got hot again. Do I understand correctly or not? Did she start or off the bench?

Gabbi sighting? Vivi play?

43 percent is pretty good for us from the field!

No Morgan Rich sighting. Maddie and Gabbi off the bench to make big contributions. Nancy getting better and better. Peyton great game. Gioya in foul trouble-also not shooting well. Vivi strong inside. Chelsea maybe hit with that freshman thing, played OK, but not as well as she has been. Lanesia, EJ, and Derica good subs off the bench.
We rebounded well (45 to 29 advantage) and only had 11 turnovers, and won all 4 quarters. Nice win, not a great win.
Tried to listen to radio and watch delayed live feed, hard to keep straight with big delay.

Starters were the same five as in the last three prior games. Maddie off the bench very early and played more minutes than anyone else.

Minutes, last three games/name/points:

90 Maddie 53
76 Peyton 38
65 Chelsea 26
61 T'Ona 24
59 Vivi 25
52 Gabbi 19
45 Gioya 5
41 LaNesia 19
37 Nancy 31
23 EJ 9
20 Derica 6
20 Gileysa 2
8 Shaya 1
3 McKenna 0

This arena is very dark, and the seating is about 35 or 40 from the court. Horse show venue most of the time I guess. Mulkey has a real great tip back for two in the 4th quarter, lots of oohs and aahs.

The most encouraging part of this game is that our outside shooting is really coming together. TT is really gaining confidence from there. Peyton also hasn't had any game where i questioned her confidence from there, and thats really all that happened to her last season. We have to hit outside shots to beat Baylor or Texas. Tt expanding her game there is really going to open things up for us.

Also, Maddie looks completely unstoppable and like the player we envisioned. Very excited about her progress this season.

Gioya, wasn't there today. She seemed really uncomfortable. Wondering if she is working on getting teammates involved- and/or not holding onto the ball so long- thats what i felt watcher her. it wasn't her best game, but she'll bounce bk.

Gabbi looked good at times, but made some crazy bad plays as well. I remember one play she got a offensive rebound w/ a late shot clock, and it was a huge play as it still was a game and there was 3 mins left and we needed to kill time. Then she pulled the ball out top- sat there for two seconds and forced a 26 ft three.... I was lost on that one. Sherri said last game she is sitting because she tries to play too fast and then makes bad decisions in the process- she is improving but it could take a while.

-Im guessing Rich plays some time, can't wait to see her and how she looks on this team.
- Vivi at times was looked unstoppable, but they were all over her quick- so important for Maddie and Peyton and others to continue with their success so we can take pressure off her.
- Dungee had some plays, but it was a freshman game. She's learning.
- Mulkey is going to be so good.
- EJ had some good minutes. She's a great defensive player when she isn't confused.

More highs than lows imo. You take away the first 5 mins, and we played well- and showed some encouraging signs.

If one player strikes early, it seems that the team relaxes a bit in its shooting. Initially, T'Ona's threes with Maddie's two threes breathed life into a team that started rather sluggishly. For about three minutes, they seemed quicker and more aggressive. Then, a third three from T'Ona and two threes from Maddie, and we caught fire. I don't think we ever relinquished the lead once we got it.

When Maddie is hitting, it seems that it opens the floor for others. There is room since even a lot of her twos are long ones. It also seems that Nancy puts at least one or two of Maddie's misses back up and in. Nancy is also our best post at passing back out. Nancy seems to create openings as they attempt to guard her. Yet, how many of her points were on offensive boards? Six? I love to watch Maddie and Nancy on the court together. Things happen.

+/- Points for each player during the Xavier game.

Vivi -3
Peyton +19
Chelsea -2
Gioya -20
TT +7

Maddie +19
LaNesia +23
Gabbi +6
EJ +8
Derica 0
Nancy +8

We did well when Peyton, Maddie, or LaNesia were on the floor.

We did better with EJ and Nancy as opposed to Vivi--some fouls and turnovers. Gabbi and TT were about the same.

Gioya was -20 while she was on the floor: turnovers, letting them get to the rim, poor shot selection--they had runs when she was on the floor. We had runs when LaNesia was on the floor.
