2- 2017 signed

Well iMO you overstated "99% of those players would make the NBA from any program in a Power 5 conference." Why do you think UK year after year gets so many top notch recruits? Is their coach that much of a better recruiter than others?

Honestly, I have already written Young off to Kentucky.

In my opinion, OU's hope was he sign early. A January commitment is good for OU, however, so they can pursue another guard.

Shame OU doesn't receive the basketball support it deserves.

Apparently YES, because prior to Coach Cal, Kentucky players sucked in the NBA. Their all-time best 5 wasn't a whole lot better than OU's top 5 despite about a hundred more NBA draftees. If Trae Young is destined to be an NBA star, it will happen whether he goes to OU or UK.

I agree that making a decision in January is better than waiting until the late signing period in April. If Trae picks OU everyone will say our coaches did the right thing. No one will be saying that if he chooses UK or another school, and we miss out on a PG who signed with someone else in November, because he didn't want to be slow-played by OU while we waited on Trae to make up his mind.

I know why our coaches are doing it, but I'm not going to pretend that I like it or that I approve of their decision.

You're right, I probably did overstate that a bit, but not by that much. And my overstatement wasn't a ridiculous, inaccurate slam at the program I support.

With the talent he recruits, if Calipari was the coach you paint him as, they'd been in the Final Four, at a minimum, every season (there's another slight overstatement for you).

You are correct. Cal is a great recruiter and has been every place he coaches. They also don't exactly play by the rules but Cal himself has never been caught and is probably smart enough to be clean.

Is he that much better recruiting isn't the correct question. Recruiting to Kentucky over OU in basketball is like recruiting OU over Kentucky in football. They have a decided built in advantage.

Your point is valid, but OU hoops and UK football is not an accurate comparison at all.

The only upside to not getting Trae: It would put us in great position to push for a top grad transfer.

I think that's a better option than taking a flyer on some mid level kid.

They pushed hard for the transfer from Colorado State that ended up at Syracuse.

Did both 4-stars that we turned away sign already? Guessing RJ Nembhard was one of them...

Was Bolden the kid that didn't sign early last year but said January but then no January. I think if Trae doesn't sign early it's bad for us and it should be obvious. I do think we are fine to leave it open because we are fine at that position next season.

PG next year is the only position I'm worried about next year. Strong has nagging injuries and I'm curious to see how he looks when his shot isn't falling. Shepherd looks pretty far away imo. Hope he makes tremendous improvements but in a year may be pushing it.

Intel which is always changing...

OU in a good spot.

UK got a PG this morning, talk is they are now onto wings.

Coach - I thought the guy they got today was a combo? If they sign Quade then I think our chances go way up, agree?
