2025 NCAA Tourney Bracketology

Moving up the bubble list, and rightfully so once people really start breaking down resumes. Let's get out of Dayton.

Based on recent history, I'm taking this with a pretty good sized grain of salt, but I am cautiously optimistic about Lunardi's comment "Realistically, there are no more than three vulnerable spots (Indiana, Xavier, Ohio State)"....and we are ahead all of those teams.

I think OU might be ahead of arkansas currently
I agree. I see a lot of bracketologists have had Arkansas ahead of OU for some time, but I think many of them formed their opinions when OU had a very ugly looking conference record. Now it's pretty easy to make the case that OU is ahead.

Arkansas' best win is slightly better (at NET 12 Kentucky vs OU's best win over NET 13 Arizona on a neutral court), but that is also their only Q1A win. OU has three, including the head-to-head win in Fayetteville. OU has a Q3 loss, true, but Arky has a losing record in Q2 (2-3) and OU is 4-1 there.

To me, if OU and Arkansas both win the same number of games in the SEC tournament, we're firmly ahead. If we lose to Georgia again while they beat LSU (edit: USC), they could move ahead by a nose.

Am I stupid? Why are Ohio state, tejas, and Nebraska even on this list?
Ohio State and Texas can certainly play themselves back into the mix with a couple/three wins. Nebraska is silly to include now that they are done. Nothing that happens could vault them over enough teams to make it so I have no idea why he lists them.

Ohio State has a tough draw after their first game.....playing a pretty good Wisconsin team. Texas certainly could make it interesting if they beat Vandy and then knock off A*M....but to be candid, Texas really isn't playing that well right now. Their only win in the last five games was beating a floundering Mississippi State team. I will be fairly surprised if they even get by Vandy (in Nashville BTW).

Another thing to keep in mind is that our win against Miss State at home is currently a Q2 win... would be big if miss state could win a couple games in SEC tourney to bump that up to a Q1 win for us.

Depending on what happens around them, they probably have a decent chance to make it to 30 with neutral court win over LSU.

games that would help us today

ISU over Cincinnati
south Carolina over Arkansas
ND over UNC
CU over WVU
Vandy over UT
McNeese over Lamar
Iowa over OSU
KSU over Baylor

Vandy over texas is most important imo. Need Vandy to turn their lights out and send them to the NIT.

the Athletic Bubble watch has 16 teams for 7 spots (I think OU is above pretty much all of these teams and a couple of the ones they say "should be in" but we shall see)

ACC
UNC Q1 (1-11) SMU Q1 (no wins) Wake (no)

Big East
Xavier Q1 (1 win)

Big Ten
IU Q1 (4-12) OSU (bad record)

SEC
Arkansas (8-12 Q2) OU (bad conf record (not at thing) ) Texas (bad non con )

Other
Boise State CSU Dayton San Diego St VCU UC Irvine UC San Diego

they pretty much say that OU will move to Should be in with a win vs Georgia ..

this is a very very weak bubble ..

Sadly I don't think win or lose this game means much. They're going to get a high priced coach this off season and they have almost no shot at the tourney. In the past the committee hasn't placed the same value on wins in conference tournaments vs regular season.

On a slightly different note the next 5 days are very underrated .. for me they are right up there with next week as one of the best CBB stretches we could have ..
Maybe a hot take but Champ Week is better than anything but the first weekend of the tournament IMO.

Stakes lower for Cinderella runs but the match-ups are typically better.
