They interviewed him at home and at LNC. They talked to Steve Henson and the guy who is his Director of Basketball Operations. They even talked to Rene Forney

They interviewed his wife, daughter and Ryan Spangler and some of the people who come to watch practice every day.

The talked quite a bit about his athletic career and coaching career.

The most interesting thing to me was the conversation about his coaching philosophy and the kinds of players he recruits. Ryan Spangler said he's been here 4 years and never heard him raise his voice.

He wants players who want to get a degree and get better every single day. He wants them to leave his with wonderful memories and experiences to take with them for the rest of their lives.

He reminds me very much of the man who coached the men's and women's teams when I was high school, who also never raised his voice yet won state championships and ended up in the Oklahoma Coaches Hall of Fame.

If I had a son, I would love to have him play for a coach like Lon Kruger.
