To see Baylor get beat by ND.

What does it say about the Big-12?

1. #2 Baylor loses to a #1 on a neutral court.
2. We (a #5) lose to a #4 on their home court.
3. #5 Texas gets blistered by @1 UCONN.

The conference should have been able to win at least one of those it seems to me.

Baylor might have won if they would have made 4 layups they missed in the łast 6 minutes.

Why? They all went as seeded.

I had thought Baylor would beat Notre Dame, about a 55% probability in my thoughts. Since the emergence of Agbuke, they were more formidable. I thought they would dominate the interior. But, then, I didn't think Notre Dame would miss half of their free throws either. Game didn't go as I expected.

Would have been a pretty comfortable double-digit win for Notre Dame had they not been awful from the free throw line.

One obvious thing I noticed was that both teams - and especially Notre Dame looked "under control" most of the time.

Often this year we had times when some players - especially Gioya - looked out of control. By that I mean looked like they were playing just a little faster than they could handle. You would sometimes see that on both offense and on defense. I'm sure some of that is skill set, but I believe a good bit of it can be improved.

Plus at times we would take a guarded 3 point shot instead of looking for a better opportunity. Again, just playing too fast for our ability.

I hope we are able to get some control over that by next year.

In an interview during the game the ND coach remarked on how physically Baylor played. I'm not interested in getting into fights but I do wish we were tougher physically. I think some OU players get intimidated at times, often enough to affect the game. I hope EJ becomes an enforcer.

That may have been true in the past, especially when we didn't have Courtney and Abi. But, I think if Baylor wanted a fight, Maddie, Gabbi, Gioya, and Vivi would accommodate them, and Maddie would never lose here grin. Dungee is in that mold.

I agree. We definitely need to be tougher/physical on both ends of the court. Like you, I'm hoping that EJ will help inside on defense and rebounding. If she can contribute 8 to 10 points per game on put backs, that will certainly help.

I've brought that up before and have been accused of wanting thugball.
