Oregon is headed to the sweet 16 unless they have a colossal collapse (like we did vs Texas :facepalm ).

Seems like he was rumored to be the choice when both Capel and Kruger were hired, or at least one of them. I've always thought he was/is a good coach but also thought he was a little "bland".

For those who don't know, he was on Lon's staff at KSU and was hired to replace Lon when he left for Florida. However, the KSU fan's never cared much for him, so he left to go to Creighton, a step down at the time.

I watched the ESPN experts tell me that St. Louis and Virginia Commonwealth could make it to the finals. They were both blown away in the second round.

I'm surprised VCU was blown away because they looked really good Thursday night. Michigan may be too much for KU if they can sustain today's performance.

I think the Pac 12 is underrated and I'm afraid the Big 12 is overrated based on results thus far.

I really despise the fact that Oregon got a 12 seed. It's killing my bracket.

Historically it seems like the Pac-10(12) always gets underrated.

I learned years ago to not go against the Pac-10 if at all possible.

Last year no PAC 10 team made the sweet 16 but I hear what you're saying. The fact that most people don't get to watch these teams play cause of time zone differences doesn't help their cause.

I love the tourney, but I don't think it's a be-all, end-all indicator of which conferences are better. It's a little like the bowl season in that sense, a bit of a Twilight Zone -- anything can happen.

Oregon has is the prototypical team that just catches fire at the right time.

Their big weaknesses in the regular season were horrible outside shooting and lots of turnovers.

So of course all they have done in the tournament is shoot about 65% from 3pt range and hardly turn it over at all... And this was against two of the elite defensive teams in the country in OSU and SLU.

Of course they also owe the Selection committee a big thanks for letting them play close to home as a 12 seed.

They were in the top 15 in the country until the point guard broke his foot. They struggled without him and not much better after he came back. They are just now starting to jell.
Joe C. wouldn't talk to him after he reneged on Arkansas. He is a super coach and he and Kruger are very much alike. By the way nobody at KSU did as well as he did until Huggins took over. They made a huge mistake in treating him poorly.

VCU depends heavily on their pressure forcing opposing teams into all sorts of mistakes. IMO Michigan has the best back court in the country. Not a good matchup for VCU. I too was surprised at the score but those things happen.

I like Altman too. He's done a nice job wherever he goes.
