Notre Dame is going to be good. Today, no Ali Patberg, Taya Reimer, or Brianna Turner.

Final in Hawaii

BYU 72 #12 Texas A&M 64

With 3:51 left, A&M came back from eleven down to get to 61-62. BYU scored 11 points in the last 3:51. A&M scored on one of two free throws by Walker and a jumper by Walker at 0:14. Rydalch scored 28, and Pulsipher scored 16 for BYU. Jennings had 15, and Walker had 11 for A&M.

ND would be my pick to win it all next year, they have the best player in the state of Indaina coming in next year. Jackie Young might be the best player in state since Skylar Diggins...

There have been some upsets and some close games in the top twenty-five.

#2 South Carolina barely survived against #6 Ohio State 88-80, UCLA, 68-65, and #16 Arizona State 60-58.

#3 Notre Dame needed OT to beat UCLA 92-84. They also survived #10 Ohio State 75-72 before losing to #1 UConn 91-81.

#4 Baylor barely survived #19 South Florida 66-63 before taking down #20 Michigan State 84-76.

#5 Maryland has coasted to big wins

#6 Texas fought off #9 Mississippi State 53-47.

#7 Oregon State has only had one close game, winning 65-58 at Marquette.

#8 Tennessee has had several close games in addition to their 53-64 loss at Texas. They beat #19 Syracuse 57-55, unranked Chattanooga 59-57, and Albany 63-55.

#9 MIssissippi State lost to #6 Texas 53-47. That was the only decent team Mississippi State will play until the last game before the conference season (South Florida). Poor schedule.

#10 Ohio State has played some big games: losing to UConn 56-100, #3 Notre Dame 72-75, and South Carolina 88-80 while winning against #12 Texas A&M 95-80.

#11 Kentucky has played a soft schedule with one legitimate win, 68-64 OT against #17 Arizona State

#12 Texas A&M lost a bit of luster last night with a decisive loss to BYU, 62-74, Previously, A&M had lost to #10 Ohio State 80-95 while winning over #14 Duke 72-66 (OT) and #18 California 75-58.
We had beaten BYU rather decisively.

#13 Florida State lost its opener to Florida 82-72 and hasn't beaten anyone of significance.

#14 Duke has struggled. They won 57-50 at Penn. They lost to #12 Texas A&M 66-72 (OT). They didn't exactly destroy Idaho, 74-68.

#15 Northwestern has played only patsies until they went to North Carolina and won 85-72.

#16 Stanford isn't that great this year. They beat #22 George Washington 84-63, but lost to Santa Clara 58-61. They barely beat Dayton and Purdue (71-65, OT). Boston College beat Purdue, and we had no problems with them.

#17 Arizona State jumped out to a loss to #11 Kentucky (64-68, OT), then to #2 South Carolina 58-60. Last night, they lost to VCU 48-57. They have no good wins to offset these losses.

#18 California Beat Louisville 75-71. Lost to #12 Texas A&M 58-75 before losing last night to St. Marys, 63-64.

#19 Michigan State lost to #4 Baylor 76-84. Then, they lost to unranked Louisville last night, 78-85.

#20 Syracuse lost to #8 Tennessee 55-57. Has beaten Washington 66-62. Lost big to #5 Maryland 64-82,

With some of these losses, OU could move up a bit if they beat Washington.

Granbling 42 Baylor 66
Texas 66 UALR 56 Texas didn't score in the third quarter.

Surprise!
Virginia Tech 57 #8 Tennessee 47 in Knoxville.
I didn't think they looked good this year.

I thought Tennessee looked real bad against Texas. I wonder how Pat Summit is doing. So sad her going out that way.

They showed Pat in the stands at the Texas game and the game today.

Tenn has 11 of 12 players on their roster that were Top 100 players, 2 were No. 1 players in their class and 2 or 3, I think, additionally were in Top 10. Holly is good recruiter but I'm not sure she will succeed, in Tenn terms, as head coach. This team should just show up and beat Va Tech at home. I wonder if Diamond transferring to Vols has created negative vibe within the team?

SMU at Texas A&M in the only top twenty-five game.

Texas--Rio Grande Valley (5-5) at Kansas State
realtimerpi has Tex---Rio Grande Valley rated #2 with a 1-0 record having beaten Cal Poly.

Very abbreviated schedule today. Pearl Harbor Day.

Kansas State 61 Rio Grande Valley 43
That wipes out the 1-0 record and #2 rating that realtimerpi had for Tex Rio Grande Valley.

A&M beat SMU by ten.

DePaul at Notre Dame tonight
Both played UConn closer than anticipated.

#16 Tennessee 58
Wichita 51
Tennessee had to fight off a 1-6 team by taking the fourth quarter.

#23 Iowa 66
Iowa State 69
There is some sign of life in Ames.

Gonzaga 57
Dayton 47
Dayton had been getting a lot of support for top 25

Samford 56
Indiana 65 in OT
Ordinarily, this would be too boring to notice. But, Indiana was 18 of 63 (28.6%) from the field and only 2 of 16 from three (12.5%). So, how did they win? Samford was 2 of 6 from the free throw line (8 fouls on Indiana in the entire game). Indiana was 27 of 31 from the line as a result of 24 fouls called on Samford. No way that I believe this.

Last night, BYU won at Weber State 68-51. It was enough to put BYU ahead of OU in both rpi polls. The night before, Utah ripped Creighton 74-58.

BYU has been on a tear since we beat them. They jumped out to a 29-14 first quarter lead before coasting in. Rydalch had 29 points, and Purcell had 12 rebounds before both fouled out, permitting a late run by Utah. Potter had 24 points and 17 rebounds for Utah. Remember those names?

Nebraska 80
#22 California 87 OT

Cal had lost at home earlier this week to St.Marys. It's difficult to remain ranked if you keep losing at home. They also recently lost to Texas A&M. Nebraska is yet to win a road game.

In the only upset of the night, #16 DePaul found out that you don't want to go to South Dakota State. SdS shot 61.1% from the field to beat DePaul 88-79. DePaul shot 51.7% and lost.

#14 Tennessee 55
#15 Stanford 69
Both are a bit too high. They aren't what we think of when we think of Tennessee and Stanford.

Thru 10 games, Tenn is averaging 64 ppg! That includes 102 pts from opener against Central Ark, 74 pts against Penn State and 85 pts against East Tenn St.
