UNC went 5-11 in the ACC last year. Roy Williams should be fired! He recruited those players and coached that team and there is no way he can recover. He is obviously not a good coach.

I'm not advocating a coaching change right now, but that comparison is apples to oranges.

I know you can't compare the two, but one bad season, unfortunately followed by a rebuilding season in my opinion is not grounds to get rid of a coach. Now if things don't get turned around, that's another story.

1 bad season? Have you been asleep for the past 5 years? 1 good season, 1 mediocre season and 2 bad seasons. The worst was last year by far but his first season was a huge disappointment. He had enough talent to make the nit at the least but did not do it. He's just not a good coach. All of his success is due to 1 player. Period.

I know bigtime hates to hear me say this, but it is becoming more obvious that Blake Griffin probably bought Capel some more time. The guy is a rookie in the NBA and embarrasses people a few times a game by dunking all over them, and averages 20 points and 11 rebounds per game, lol.

OU had one of the best players in the world, and probably the most explosive power forward in the world playing on their team a couple of years ago. Not just in the Big 12, not just in the nation, in the WORLD.

You just can't ignore that given what we have seen without him.

I have to agree with abd here. While this is about Oklahoma Basketball Jeff Caple is the man in charge of Oklahoma Basketball, this is his mess and right now i don't have faith in him being able to get us out of it.

5 years ago we would have never dreamed of having to make such claims as "I hope we just play hard".

Thanks Gimper! I realize I am maybe more optimistic than a lot of fans and the same with Big, but I do my best to be rational. I respect everyones opinion, even the fire Capel opinions, if it's an educated opinion. What gets me are the posters saying "Capel needs to go", but they can't even argue their side of the debate. The program is in a tight spot and Capel is on the hot seat, but I'm in the camp of let's see how things play out. But I respect the opinion of those who feel otherwise, but I'm gonna debate about it. I'm not gonna personally attack anyone for their opinion, although some on this board will.

Facts:

2009-10 record = 13-18, 4-12 conf
2010-11 record = quite possibly worse

If that doesn't AT LEAST get you on the hot seat at the University of Oklahoma then I am really depressed about the state of our basketball program. For you or anyone else to act like the posters that feel Capel should be gone have nothing to back up their sentiments is preposterous.
