Ladies and gentlemen... We have discussed this at length. You can't get practically no production from someone playing 30 minutes a game. He hasn't scored in 5-6 games this year..... 3 points or less in a handful of others...

Reaves is bad, but someone else needs to make a shot. Until that happens, you're going to keep seeing the Reaves chunk-a-thon.

He also had 3 turnovers. And he wasn't as sharp on defense tonight. He should be a backup, but unfortunately he still has to play a lot due to the lack of other options. You could start Williams, but when the subs come in....then you would have virtually zero offensive punch on the court (Bienemy, Hill, Kur, Vic) all at once.

Ehhhh, I don't know guys, he's only played 53 games in college, the light bulb should go on any day now.

Tough to win a lot of games with the guard play we've had this year. Given our guard play, our record is actually outstanding. We'll need to be much better there next year without Doolittle inside. Guards are the key to winning in college. We have to start doing better at recruiting there. No reason to not have better options or development there.

Nobody wants to admit it, but OU is a fringe team because 50% of the recruiting strategy doesn't work at OU... He does outstanding with the local high school talent, but he hasn't fully embraced the junior college recruiting that he needs to. Players all around us every year that he doesn't even look at, that used to be the guys OU got and put all those great teams together with.

I am beating a dead horse because I know it is the problem. I am so convinced that it is the problem that I want to put a report together and email it to Joe C or something. It is so obvious to me, yet not so obvious that I can't even convince you guys that I am right. :)

Recruiting is not the problem. Recruiting wasn't the problem when we played Baylor to the wire in Waco. Talent is not the problem.
Coaching is the problem. Coaching is the reason our players aren't getting better. Coaching is the reason players play out of control and detrimental to the team winning. Coaching is the reason players aren't prepared to play well on the road against bad teams like Kstate.
It's time for new ideas. It's time for Lon to retire or move on.

I disagree... OU has a talent and roster makeup problem, which are both recruited related. Lon can coach, he just can't reliably put teams together. A lot of his teams make no sense, have glaring holes, etc.

It would be better if someone else assembled a roster for him and his sole job was to coach it, lol.

Like when he was with the Atlanta Hawks?

for "out of control" players it is amazing we are among the best teams in the country in turnovers and not fouling

If you are correct, that we don't have the talent to win, then that is also a coaching problem. If a coach can't win with the players he has, that is his problem.

i 100% agree with this ..

i think they ( and we ) thought that reaves would be better (again he has not been bad overall) Harmon would be more ready ( he has still been good for a fresham) and the JB would make a jump ( he has not and that is the biggest dissapointment to me)

hopefully next year 2 of the 3 at least will improve

A lack of shots attempted precludes Jamal from scoring much, but I wonder if this is by staff design or not.

They beg him to shoot more.

They need to make Bieniemy watch this scene from The Mighty Ducks, and apply the lesson to taking it to the rim and getting fouled.

Just make JB take it to the rim about 200 times in a row and have Kur and Issanza hammer him or attempt to block the shot, and make JB finish it or get fouled.

I think it's the same mental issue for JB.

That'd be a good way to make sure he never drove the lane again. Just got to show him film of when he should've attacked & hammer it home in practice.

He flops all the time. Tries to jump into defenders and doube clutches on 3 pointers to get fouled. Heck even on the game winning shot against Baylor, he fell out of the baseline 10-12 feet away.
