Very excited about his future. Came in for Calixte in the WSU game and the offense immediately was better. His is long and is very good defensively for a freshman. He has a chance to be a really good player. With Harmon coming in to play the point, wonder if he slides to the wing with Reeves next year

It looks like he has no problem creating separation with the dribble to find an open shot, though at this point in his career he's more than happy to pass the ball instead.

I’m excited too. I love Jamal’s game!

I knew going into the season he took a lot of pride in playing defense. He averaged 2 steals per game his senior season in high school, and he’s not too far below that average his freshman season at OU. He leads the team with 14 steals. Brady has 9, no one else has more than 7.

There is no doubt that Harmon will start at the point from the get go next year. But I think we already have a very capable back up in Jamal Bieniemy. He’s having a great first season, and he’s just going to get better.

I have to imagine he and Reaves are likely to start on the wings, but Bieniemy will also serve as a backup PG. Having two point guards on the floor at the same time is a huge bonus -- I've heard Bill Self talk for years about how all his best teams have had multiple ball handlers on the floor simultaneously.

I like the fact that he's getting this experience so he can hit the ground running next season with Harmon and Reaves. This is a very good time to be an OU men's basketball fan.

A starting lineup of Harmon, Bienemy, Reaves, Manek, Kuath is something I can get excited about.

Or doolittle at the 5.

I think other 4 are guarantees.

It wouldnt surprise me to see Iwuakor starting or getting a lion's share of the minutes. He has quick feet, nice timing, and takes pride in his defense. Of course I say all that and they'll end up RS'ing him.

I dont think he's an instant play kid. I think he can be good but will take some time. He's limited offensively right now.

I'm sure you're right. I've only watched interviews and clips of him. I've just liked his footwork and he always seems to talk about defense when I have heard him. I like that from an inside player.

Absolutely and his motor is high. you love that in a big man and defender!
He has another 6 months before hes on campus. Im sure the coaches have told him what to work on as far as individual workouts.

Bienemy is just a “smooth” player/athlete. I’ve been very impressed with his play this season.

The 2 Juco kids especially Williams will play a lot.

I know Williams is a stud at wing, but I’m not so sure about Merritt. He’s averaging 6 points and 5 boards thru 13 juco games at Daytona State. I know he was hurt last year and is just getting his “sea legs”. In their 2 losses he had a total of 3 points and 6 rebounds.

Of course, we need a post player to eat up some minutes next season, and he’s definitely big and long.

Not doubting you guys, I'm just wondering what you have seen from Kuath that excites you about him starting next year. Anybody?

I read that different than I typed. Sorry.

Meant Williams play a ton.

I agree with you. Questioning LK is not a good thing but Merritt bothers me.

His activity level. He's a high motor guy who likes to get in the middle of things and mix it up. You couple that with some length, athleticism, and a bit of discipline and you have a good inside defender. They get boards, jam up interior passing, and don't let other bigs dominate.
