I posted this on another forum, but thought it was interesting and surprising in some cases (how poor Mizzou's attendance was last year given their success).

School- 2009 Attendance- Arena Capacity- Percentage filled- School Size

Kansas- 16,350- 16,350- 100%- 30k
Texas- 13,616- 16,755- 81%- 50k
Iowa St- 11,965- 14,356- 83%- 26k
Oklahoma- 11,490- 11,528- 99%- 23k
Nebraska- 10,286- 13,595- 76%- 24k
OSU- 10,031- 13,611- 74%- 23k
Missouri- 9,805- 15,061- 65%-30k
Texas Tech- 9,493- 15,020- 63%- 28k
Texas A&M- 9,438- 12,989- 73%- 48k
Kansas St- 8,940- 12,528- 71%- 24k
Baylor- 7,066- 10,347- 68%- 14k
Colorado- 4,637- 11,064- 42%- 30k

I'm sure those numbers are tickets sold for all schools, but OU has to be pleased with selling out 99% of the available seats to every game, while showing a nice increase in actual attendance last season.

Thanks for posting, DFW!

Interesting.

Interesting.

Not really, when you consider that we endured about 3 1/2 years of HORRIBLE basketball.

Attendence really picked up at the end of last season, and I think that this year you will see a GIA that closer to what we saw before Sean's reign of terror.

But as a basketball school shouldn't OSU still be among the best in attendance no matter the product on the court?
Like Duke, UNC, UCLA, Indiana, Kentucky, etc.

Those are the handful of elite schools that will pack them in no matter what.

OSU had very good attendence for having such awful teams until last year.

I'd say that the bigger embarassment would be having a top 10 team and still not being able to fill your arena... just sayin'.

We're not the one's claiming to be a basketball school, like you guys.

We out drew you this year and we're going to do it again next.

UCLA? Not so much- apathetic fans. Averaged 9800 at an arena that seats 13k. Creighton by comparison brought avg of 16k near capacity.

I went to a Duke v MD game in the early 80s that was only 2/3 full. Winning consistently is the only attendance cure even at places like Kentucky.

Creighton has the best fans in college basketball, period. What they do up there with the fan support is nothing short of amazing.

Are you talking about Oklahoma? We had really good attendance last season. The lowest number of BIS (butts in seats) for a conference game was on a Wednesday night against Nebraska (9,600). Every other conference game we had over 10,400.

OSU has had really poor attendance the last three years. Last year it was as bad as any year that I have ever seen for either school. The TU game that I went to (the best attended non-conference home game on your schedule) had maybe 6000 people there.

But you are a football school now with Boone. So who cares right?
