What are your predictions for the OU record in Big 12 play and their place in the standings since the non league schedule is complete (save Florida)?

I wrote in a thread the other day that OU would only win 5 or 6 league games, after rethinking that a bit, I think OU will be 8-10 and finish 7th. Hope I get to eat these words in March (OU is 9-9 or better).

Disappointing because OU should always be good enough for NCAA Tournament play, imo, but the ground work is being set for future success in the league.

OU will improve as the year goes on but the league looks tough as always.

With OSU solid, Tech sitting at 11-1, and TCU on mend, I want to see OU beat a Big 12 team before we talk about final records.

We have a deep bench with a lot of talent that I think is improving each game, and if JW can play the rest of the season I feel like we can finish 12-6.

I think OU has a lot of bodies but not sure as of yet on the talent part..We shall see as time moves on.

I wish that Lon would change his philosophy. I would like the following:
Play full court man to man... pressure the ball and play 10-12 players
Play a motion and screening offense that emphasizes passing.
We should have a goal of 20 assists a game instead of 4-8
Play 100% and the coach should sub you out frequently.

With our current style of play, I do not think that we will win a conference road game and have 5 wins

We have very little team chemistry and really.....no team identity. I trust Kruger and hope we can improve, but with the strength of the Big 12 this season, I see us as a 6 or 7 win team in conference right now.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I'm gonna guess we win 7. Like it's been said, we haven't been getting blown out and could easily have a lot better record right now. So if we find a good rhythm and rotation, plus figure out how to close a game out, we could possibly win a couple more. On a side question here, what's up with all the big 12 games starting on Friday this year? Is it because Saturday is New Year's Eve and the CFP?

10-8

If we are going to play so many guys, we need to be pressing on D and running up and down the court.....

This is about how I feel right now about our team as well. The "sunshine pumper" in me wants to say we can win 9-10 conference games and then hopefully we would fair well in the conf. tournament to make it 10-12... but I just can't see that happening right now. But, as you said, I trust Kruger and company to right the ship... One thing is for sure: this team works hard & gives good effort. And I would add has some very good talent. Hope to see us progress this year.

ESPN predicting OU to finish 9th, and UT 10th in the Big 12.

If that happens (OU finishing 9th), what are your thoughts on Lon Kruger after that?

Tell you this much, we finish 9th, we aren't getting Young. I fear we've already screwed that up.

When did you last speak to Trae?

Not allowed to form my own opinion?

You didn't speak to anybody directly involved in the Mixon incident, yet you had a pretty strong opinion on that. An opinion that ended up being wrong, but an opinion none-the-less.

Anything I said about the Mixon incident was based on eyewitness accounts of that night's events, as reported in the media. Not sure where you think my opinion even entered into it. I made no predictions, no assurances of future developments.

You, on the other hand, insisted that we aren't getting Young if we finish ninth in the Big 12. I've seen no other evidence given anywhere that our chances of signing him depend upon the Big 12's rankings at season's end, so it's only reasonable that I might wonder if you've perhaps spoken to him, given you stated it as a fact, not an opinion.

Skyvue didn't have to speak to anybody directly involved in the Mixon incident... he saw the video of a 6'2'' 230 pound machine knocking the crap out of a woman and breaking multiple bones in her face. Not only did he see the video, he read quotes directly from Bob Stoops saying he would have kicked him off the team if he did it today.

As for Young, it's pretty well known that players typically go to programs headed in a positive direction. If OU finishes 9th in the Big 12 Lon will have to convince him of playing time and that this years team was just young. Makes it harder, for sure.

OU basketball is fortunate to have Kruger. Regardless of how the standings look in 2017.
