Haven't confirmed yet, but rumor is that OU sued B12 over 11am football game times, 11 of last 17. Supposedly, Texas is behind a conspiracy to make us play in that time slot. Haven't heard this, but what if they determine that Texas helped ESPN, at their request, to keep OU out of afternoon or evening time slots wen ESPN put its best matchups in.

Relevance to basketball you ask. If we have in fact sued the league, then you have to wonder if we might just leave the league.

I'm sick and tired of waking up for an 11 am kickoff. It does OU NO good and the Big 12 no good. It's always us. Leave the ****ing big 12

Completely agree.

Seems like we ALWAYS get the 11 AM kickoff.

11 of the last 17?!

For the most historic football program in the Big 12?

Come on now.

It sucks for the merchants and for those of us who have to drive 2.5+ hours to get there, get parked, and eat something before kickoff.

The 11 am slot is fine. Likely Stoops prefers it. Get up, have a good meal, have meetings and play ball. Then kick back & enjoy the rest of the day.

I love it on the west coast. 9am kickoff. No waiting around. Over by lunch.

I'm personally disappointed for selfish reasons. I'm coming to Oklahoma on October 1st and hoped to go to the West Virginia game if it was a night game. However, my 2 grandsons have youth football games at 11:30 and 3:30. I want to see them play more than I want to watch OU play. I face the same dilemma when I come for the weekend of October 24th when the Sooners play Texas Tech. I'm hoping for a night game then, too.

Didn't Stoops complain not too long ago that we were playing too many night games? Said that they were tired of getting back to Norman really late.

It is very odd that we have so many morning games. Especially WVU with the stripe the stadium promotion.

I'm not sure what is causing it but I doubt it is some conspiracy and we aren't going to sue over it.

I personally like morning games now that I have a family. It doesn't take up a whole day.

My preference is night, morning, afternoon

I like the 11am slot as well... Get it done. If they played half their games at 11:00 and the other have at 7:00, that would be perfect.

But think about it from a team perspective.

11 AM kick means they'll have to hold their team walk-through around 7:30, so the team is waking up around 6:30. Then they'll have to fit in some film, maybe a team meal, etc. all before the take the field 90 mins before kickoff.

Recruits that are in town are having to wake up that early also, and the fans are never as rowdy or loud for an 11 AM game as they are for a night game, so the environment isn't as good, which also can impact recruiting, and how well the team performs.

11 AM kickoffs are bad for OU.

I fully understand why locals don't like 11am games, but I like sleeping late on a Saturday, waking up, having breakfast, and boom -- it's game time.

We might as well join the SEC and be on ESPN and the SEC network

Tried to get some confirmation on the rumor. I'm now told the rumor is incorrect in that no lawsuit was filed, but rather, a complaint with Fox and the B12 has been filed. Haven't confirmed this either so, still all just a rumor.

BTW, I refuse to go to 11am games. I don't like them. I know the merchants are raising blood hell over the 11am games, and I would guess that OU pays attention to those complaints.

To each his own, but for me the early games destroy the experience. Downtown Diner at about 8:30, beers beginning at about 11am, tour of campus corner, campus and catch a basketball scrimmage or practice, lunch with the Engineers or Mont at 1230 to 1:30, depending upon kick off, go to stadium, by the end of the game, I have had lunch, snacks at the game and haven't been drinking for a few hours, so I can still get back to Tulsa at a reasonable time. This experience is worth the ticket and parking price and the use of my entire Saturday. 11am kickoffs ruin this experience for me and make it too much trouble to attend. So I just watch it on TV. I appreciate the lack of fandom involved here and that others might disagree. But, as for me, I will not be attending an 11am kickoff game.

This is what I don't get. Assume WVU wins this week. That is actually a fairly safe assumption but not a given. If that happens, WVU is probably in the top 25. How does a top 25 match up end up at 11:00? I don't get that.

With that said, I don't really care when OU plays. There are pros and cons to virtually all time slots.

it is because of 2 reason .. 1 the 11am time slot is a really good one .. it is usually a national window .. with little up against it ..

this is why OU texas is almost always 11am .. (that is the national window on abc 230 is regional) ...

the other reason is network contracts ... fs1 has big 12 and Pac 12 for the most part and they cant' put pac 12 games at 11am ...

add to that that 11am is a better time slot for ratings then the 230 slot and that is why we get lots of 11am kicks ..
