Missouri has lost 4 of their last 5 games and only finished 8-8 in a pretty weak conference. Their RPI of 36 is right on the edge where teams start to get left out. Colorado and their 64 RPI should not even be in the discussion and the only way they would be is if it was a Mizzou or Colorado choice.

It's great how sad the Big XII is. OU will be right back in the top 4 if they stay the course. It's not as weak as it was under Sampson but it's getting close.

The big 12 as a whole was not that great, but Kansas and Texas were both so dominant. For much of the year they both looked like they'd end up in the final 4.

It's Baylor and Kstate that let down the big 12. If they had played to their potential, the top 5 would have all had a chance at the sweet 16.

Missouri and Colorado will get in also. The Big 12 after those 6 was really weak though.

Kansas will be a 1 seed only because they played in the Big XII. They would be a 4 or 5 seed if they played in the Big East. Texas will be a 3 seed.

How did Kansas State let anybody down? They don't have any NBA talent on their team. OU will be as talented as KSU next season. If people picked Kansas State as a top 5 team that just shows they don't know how to evaluate basketball.

Hopefuly Colorado will get in. If they do not, we will not have beaten a single NCAA tourney team this season. Texas Southern got beat in SWAC semis last night.

that's BS.

both Mizzou and Colorado should be in.

watched the other conferences and those 2 teams are certainly among the top 64 in the country.

I can see leaving Missouri out. They've struggled in a lot of their bigger games this year. Colorado has a good enough resume to get in.

Any Big 12 team that lost to the Sooners this year does not deserve a MM bid.

really? an 8-8 conference record with losses to OU and San Francisco and a 64 RPI? Very rare, if ever, that a team with an 8-8 Big XII record and a 64 RPI gets in. I remember Kansas State having a 10-6 record in 2007 and a 56 RPI and they did not get in.

But we shall see. There are only 37 at large spots so getting in with an RPI of 64 is very difficult.

very rare?

it wasn't so long ago that having a .500 season in the Big-12 (Big-8) assured one of an NCAA bid. Basketball HAS been around longer than 4 years.

Name me the 8-8 Big XII teams that have made it. The only year OU went 8-8 we got left out.

They also beat Texas, Missouri, Kansas State(3 times)

If you think KSU is in they haven't beat Colorado this year.

You realize 4 more teams get in this year. Missou is in easily.

They will get 6.

Texas will be a 2. Could be a 1 if they beat Kansas.

Both MU and CU deserve a spot this year.

There are not 37 teams better than MU and CU (especially when conference tournament winners are not in the discussion).

Also... WTF is my avatar now? Can I have Quin back?

I guess they felt sorry for Missouri and let them in to lose. Not sure why anybody ever thought Colorado would be in. Their RPI was terrible. Way below where teams get in.

I agree with your point that KU more than likely wouldn't have been a 1 seed had they played in a tougher conference, because the Big 12 was a little more subpar than usual this season.

However, judging by (almost) the past decade, I think this is more of an anomaly than anything. The only conference that had as good of a run from 2002 to now is the Big East in the NCAA Tournament... A time span in which Sampson spent a few seasons while at OU. So I don't think the Big 12 was weak at all during the latter-end of his tenure.
