Does he have a brother named Luigi?

This is actually the type of hire Joe C. will probably make.

I posted this in another thread:

If OU were to hire Blaine Taylor, it would be the second time he has taken over a program after a Capel was fired.

When he became head coach at ODU, it was after they had fired Jeff Capel II. Jeff Capel III was an asst coach on that staff.

Talk about irony.

MARTHA! Where's the GD garden lanterns?????

Dude has no ties down here though. I want somebody that won't "feel out of place", as the dismissed Jeffrey Capel once said.

There has to be SOMEONE from this part of the country that would make a good hire.

Not sure if this has been mentioned on the board yet today, but Billy Tubbs basically insinuated the same thing in his interview on the Sports Animal this morning.

Did Tubbs say anything else of interest?

I like the way you think.

Not trying to be funny at all, but guys that look like that very seldolm win championships...think about it. Roy, Mike, B Donavan, Izzo, Self, etc. Even Calhoun and Boeheim look better than that guy.

I guess that explains why Sherri Coale has won a lot of NC's.

Seriously...looks have nothing to do with it. If they did, Eddie Sutton would have never advanced to the NCAA tournament.

Blaine Taylor's career record against Jeff Capel: 2-6.

Not other than he thought you needed someone from Oklahoma/Texas to have the best chance to recruit that area. Said he could see how an East Coast guy would have trouble fitting in here.

When asked about Terry Evans, he said that would be a similar hire as to when he came to OU from Lamar. But he didn't go over the top in endorsing him for the job.

Said he really liked Jeff and hoped it would've worked out for him, but didn't seem opposed to the firing.

Said the new coach needed to realize OU was a football school and that was that. Also thought the new coach needed to play an exciting brand of basketball to get the fans interest back.

I dont think the entire state of Oklahoma has enough Grecian Formula to keep Blaine Taylor happy.

yeah but Sutton never WON. Think about it booger. even in football....Bob, Urban, Saban, Pete, even Les ain't that bad (no homo by the way) Mack's got a messed up grill but ain't that bad either...lol. This thought is actually not original with me. The first time I heard this stuff mentioned was with Colin Cowherd. I think he spouted off some psycology stats about the connection with looks and high success. Obviously there are exceptions and I'm really half-kidding here...but it is interesting...lol

Reggie Theus ought to be 5 time national Champ then.

If Mark Mangino were to get a head coaching gig at a big time football program this theory would go out the window. :ez-laugh:

What about Tara Vanderveer? She's about as ugly of a coach as you can find and she's won at least 1, and I think 2, NC's at Stanford. :ez-laugh:

Oh lord, this went from being a funny picture post to people arguing whether he would be a good fit or not. Yippee gotta love it.
