Blowout losses under Capel

That's pretty horrific. That means Capel has been beaten by 10+ points in one out of every four games he's coached at Oklahoma. I imagine that ratio will only go up as we go through conference play.

But to me, the following is even worse: take out the 2009 Elite 8 season and we've had 36 10+ point losses in 112 games. That means that, other than the Elite 8 season, we're getting by 10+ one out of every three times we step onto the court.

THAT is pitiful.
Additionally a significant portion of the teams that play OU have no chance to win let alone blow out OU. That means when you look at reasonably matched opponents Capel gets blown out about half the time

OK. Well, let's look at this another way.

Capel has played 65 regular-season Big 12 games. He now has a record of 32-33. Take away the Elite 8 year of 2009, his Big 12 record is 19-30.

Now, 10+ point losses. In his 65 Big 12 games Capel has lost by 10+ points 18 times. That's one per every 3.611 contests.

Sampson coached here for 12 seasons and he had 25 10+ point losses in conference play.

I'll look up the stats for Tubbs using this criteria in a bit.

I guess. Thats the problem with this list. Some of these games were two possession games with less than 5 minutes left and ended up being 10 point losses, yet you call them blowouts.

To me, a blowout is a 20-point game, or at least there's a 20-point lead at some point in the game.

I disagree, 13 points is 4 threes and a free throw away or 6 twos + 1 ft...either way you slice it OU was beat pretty badly by a coasting Baylor team that toyed with OU while turning the ball over 17 times.

I don't need a math lesson genius. This was not a blowout.

There are times when games go to overtime and one team ends up winning by 10+. By your criteria, that would be a "blowout". Me thinks your criteria is a bit too black and white.

This was a moral victory. Ill take those anytime THIS season. I would guess that 90% of the people that actually watched this game would say this is not a blowout.

I'm guessing you didn't watch all of it

"My criteria" came from another poster on here (can't remember) that posted in the A&M game thread about how many 10+ blowouts there were.

I don't care whose criteria it is, my point remains the same.
